Their first showing (fall05) was so intriguing and beautiful... sad to see what they've become.

Ouch...

I thought it was Spring fashion week?

^^ totally... I'd never guess this was the same brand

This comes as no surprise at all. I'm not sure if everyone is familiar with what has been happening at Aquascutum but up until as recently as three weeks, Micheal Herz and Graeme Fidler didn't even know if they still had a job. The Japanese company who owns Aquascutum called Renown has been looking for a buyer for months and there was a failed buyout attempt with Kim Winser the driving force behind the brand who then abruptly left. A few weeks ago it was however announced that Harold Tillman the current president of the British Fashion Council and the reason why London is suddenly getting a it into an international mega brand, and will be looking forward to a show in London next season, so if possible, find it in your hearts to forgive this collection.

^ wow, I didn't know they were having such difficulties at Aquascutum.. thanks for sharing the info, Master Wood. I hope they recover soon and get back on track.. the brand is clearly capable of producing some precious pieces.

Thanks for the info, MasterWood. Never knew they were having financial/creative issues. I always assumed the brand was doing fairly well from a financial standpt. seeing as Gisele appeared in several adverts and such. She isn't cheap, after all. I hope they manage to overcome those obstacles and get back the essence of fall05. They were definitely on the list of up-and-coming talents.

oh no! I see - poor guys, I really feel for them. They're definitely among my absolute favourites as designers and I really believe in their talent. All my wishes that everything will go their way again :flower:

And really, its not such a terrible collection, just that they're usually so amazing that I have high expectations.

Oh dear, it's like the whole label was ransacked and it rubbed off on the models. Aquascutum used to be so luxurious.

Everything here feels waaay too heavy to be summer-suitable.

^^ No things should be very much on track now. Mr Tillman purchased the company for an undisclosed sum several weeks ago and he as vowed to reinstate the brand on a global level, thus a show next London Fashion Week! So hopefully the designers will come up with much better designs in February!
