Armor S/S 07

^ i see this as a 'hybrid' trend, mainly overlapping in metallics category and even i may also dissagree with some choices , i find it interesting to see how tfs members react and detect the 'warrior woman' uber trend

like ngth said, i believe the FIT exhibit will also influence the developement of this trend
we had it will softness, nostalgia, innocence and romanticism , its normal to see a stronger archetype to re-emerge

where is DOLCE & GABBANA? why Comme des Garçons?
I def. disagree about (i made a list) :
1st one ( it's more "metalic"-ish. I mean just the colour makes it "armor")
Balmain (same here)
CDG
Hamissh Morrow
Prada (what the hell is armor in this?)
Miu Miu (i def. like the geometric thing. but c'mone! is there any "insects" trend?)
Well, the Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Balmain and Hamish Morrow all incorporate chain mail, which was used in armor for hundreds of years...it's more than just a metallic color.

CdG is more figurative, using "plates" of fabric to cover parts of the body.

Prada uses metal, or metal looking resin, to create a scale affect which was a technique used in ancient Rome to protect the body before the development of chain mail.

Miu Miu also uses it figuratively, the shapes have an almost Samurai quality to them.

Just because the references aren't obvious doesn't mean the looks don't work, I'd never put something in a trend thread unless it fits.

I totally agree with Lena. This trend will absolutely develop over the next few seasons, and I'm definitely excited to see how. I'd say it's officially time for prettiness to take a back seat and for strength to come back into the limelight....I couldn't be happier.

I didn't see the outfits in real. and doesn't read all the journalists reviews.
