As a Lady, What Do You Think of a Guy or BF Having More Shoes Than You?? (SERIOUSLY)

Interesting discussion (and I love the picture of the horse!)

Well, I have to admit I would think it's a little freaky if a guy had so many shoes but I guess at the end of the day since it's their preference I am okay with it.
It's the same really, my fiance doesn't understand why I need to buy so many bags but he knows it's something I'm addicted too..so...

P.S. the Clydesdale reminded me more of girls in Mukluks, which in my book is a greater sin than Uggs cos they actually killed rabbits to make it......

I think its great if a guy has lots of shoes!!! it means he has some care towards personal presentation and thats always a good thing. I wouldnt care much if a guy had more shoes than me (once again means he cares)
and means he would be sympathetic of my shoe addiction!!!

I own too many. ;) More than my girlfriend - but that balance is redressed by her owning more sneakers than she ever has in her life (I'm a bad influence me!:D). I love shoes though!

I don't see why there is such a social stigma when comes to men buying lots of shoes - especially different styles. The only reasons women have more shoes than men is because a) we've all been socially programmed that way and b) women's shoes are better than men's full stop (lots more styles and variety and that's why I love 'em!). I think if men had more styles and choice in the shoe store the there wouldn't be such a problem with men owning lots of shoes.

Men, don't be afraid to buy the shoes you want, don't be afraid of owning as many or more shoes as your girlfriends/wives, and don't get tied down by unnecessary social constraints. I actually think society isn't that bothered about it all. :) (as some of the posts above demostrate)

I would definitely give it some thought if a guy had more shoes than me ... but to my knowledge it's never happened :innocent:

I actually feel more comfortable with men who have a vast collection of shoes and clothes or at least a appreciation for such items. It's a very basic common interest that we can share.

My current boyfriend completely thinks I am ridiculous for having so much clothes and makeup and such. He believes to buy what you need and replace when it's old kind of thing and has not a clue about fashion.

My ex/best friend has a walk in closet full of shoes and a spare room turned clothes closet in his loft. I never felt intimidated by the fact he has twice more clothes and shoes than I. I felt comforted by the fact that he would never complain that I'd like to shop and he accompany me or tell me I have too much.

It's something I enjoy so much and I do it for me so it really ticked me off that it's a problem with my new boyfriend. It's almost feels like a putdown to something I feel strongly in.

So when I see a guy with a lot of shoes, I jump for joy and definitely keep dating him.

^ I guess I should say why I would think about it :p My own goal is "mindful consumption" and I don't have all that many pairs of shoes myself ... not sure of a total but I'm sure it's less than 30. And even with a number that many here would consider pitifully inadequate ;) I know I have more than I need. So if a guy had more, I would want to understand why, but I wouldn't pre-judge the situation.

I would give it some thought...but I say...why give up a good man over his number of shoes? ^_^

Unless of course...they're all high heels and sexier than mine...:innocent:

I would honestly think it was awesome that he understood my shoe obsession and would think it's really cool.

Then again, I'm used to my dad owning about ten times the pieces I do, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch.

not in my life ;)

i know men with great taste and having a lot of shoes but more than me?? they must be freaks!!!

personally, i don't own too many shoes at all. that, and my feet are weirdly shaped and wide and lots of shoes are beautiful but never fit properly.

i haven't known many guys who own more shoes than me, but i know some men collect sneakers and stuff. it would be weird, but also cool that he has so many shoes. i wouldn't really care much :D

As i have over 60 pairs i would be more than a little worried...but in general i think a man should own between 5 and 15 pairs. All men should own these.. Converse, trainers, flip flops, smart blacks, and boots (think orlando bloom..scruffy mens boots.) More is a bonus...less is just poor upkeep.
lol

I love when guys are really interested in clothing. I'd think it was great if I met a guy with more shoes than I have.

i have been on both sides of this situation. my last girlfriend only had 3! pairs of shoes total. she had zero interest in fashion. i have maybe 20 pairs so that was really odd. my current girlfriend, thank goodness, has about twice as many as i do.

if i met a guy who had more shoes than me i would say bye bye. It would really weird me out. I know men are more metro these days and i love a metro man but thats pushing the boat out a little too far. any more than 10 pairs in a male possession than its majorly wierd - especially if hes not married/lt attached and not being bought them by his gf.

well i hate the term metro and wish it had never been coined. it's a shame that there is such a small percentage of straight men interested in fashion that they have to be grouped and labeled "not quite gay". and as far as shoes being bought by a girlfriend? who does that? i am capable of shopping for myself and sorry if that imposes upon you.

If my boyfriend had more shoes than me, I'd wish he'd saved his money and bought me a few extra pairs! :p

I don't mind guys with too many shoes, as long as they don't put them before ME. :)

Totally agree, Hate...absolutely hate the term metrosexual, its almost like society finding a name for something and another lame attempt at giving a demographic a label.

That being said, theres nothing wrong with a male having more shoes over a female? What a man cant buy shoes for himself? I pity the societal comformist that think that way.
