I got an email to say that my order had been dispatched...and then 40 minutes later received another email to say that the shoes were out of stock I'm so angry that they let me order them if they didn't have them.

I have tried that to! And then the following Monday, my dress was back in stock . I was PISSED!

^Your post just inspired me to recheck their website. They have the shoes left in one size...a UK 6...MY SIZE!!!!!! So I have reordered them but wtf?!?!

dumbfairy same thing happened to me. then i ordered in a size smaller and 4 hours later my size (the one i wanted in the first place) was in stock.
then i had to pay shipping twive plus shipping to send the small size back

I've never had any issues with ASOS but I bought their own brand skirted leggings and after two wears I found under the skirt a hole on the thigh (which has slightly laddered now) and the seam here the legs connect has come undone. I e-mailed Customer Care and asked if I would be able to exchange since after 2 wears they shouldn't have holes in them when I've only worn them to the shops.

I got a reply today saying if I wanted to get a different size or swap the item for another item of the same price I could but that wasn't really my question answered. I want the same leggings but not damaged ones, it's obviously down to poor quality so I feel I should be able to exchange them for a new pair but not sure how the outcome will be as I don't think they accept damaged goods although I didn't damage them.

sometimes things come back into stock so its a good idea to bookmark the page and check back, also if people add things to their basket it takes it off the site but if they dont actually complete checkout i think after about half an hour it becomes available again, ive been lucky like that a few times and nabbed the last one !
