Their site doesn't allow me to post pictures, but you can go to www.ato.jp to see their collections, particularly S/S 05. I found the link in the designers section of this website where Runner posted a link. (Thx, Runner! :flower:)

Anyway, I just wanted to make people aware of this designer.

To add some information about this label...

They used be carried by Barneys in the US but (of course) were dropped.
Now its available at many places throughout japan.

Future seasons may possibly see distribution in america however.

I guess you didn't know that barneys has a history of dropping designers such as carol christian poell and carpe diem because they are not "commercial" enough.

In all honesty, its a horrible store in my opinion now.

Yes, I do know of that history, I think it was you who told me that Masaki Matsushima was dropped from Barney's as well (Bah!). I thought you meant that it was a really awful collection or something else.

I totally agree with you on Barney's. Although, I wouldn't be happy if a ton of chavs ran around in CCP or CP because it was so available, either.

ooh, yes. i am attracted to the (usually) black garments he designs. there was a beautiful black dress sewed together from different black material textures for the 04 fall collection i was lusting after.

i actually got to see the 05 s/s collection in person, and i was only disappointed because i cannot wear a lot of the shapes that was put out... heres looking to this fall then ^_^

here's two pics which sum up prett much the theme of the collection. i don't remember where i got these pictures from so no credit , sorry >_<

Wow! You got to see the collection in person! Awesome!:heart::heart:

I really love the menswear picture you posted, that was one of my favorite outfits.

Ato is a very nice designer. The products of Ato are mainly available in Japan but Ato holds exhibitions in Paris. The jackets are featured with very deep lapels which make you look very sharp and smart. Since A/W2005, Ato has also focused on women's collection. The women's wear of this designer has masculine taste. JUST GREAT!!
