I hear you!

As for Susie's comments on the previous page, I agree wholeheartedly that Alaia connects with the female form without being sl*tty. I think he became characterised as a sexual, (or in the middle days of feminism, a sexist) designer was because the bodies in question were so amazonian. I think his work is better for slim women today. I do think Alaia could work for you Susie because I dont think it worked on those awful giants like Crawford and Webb.

At Barneys here in Boston today I saw THE MOST ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL denim skirt by Alaia that I have ever seen. Period.

The construction was pure genius with this gorgeously fine leather trim that had a cord run through it to connect pieces together while providing juuuust a little bit of peek a boo to the skin beneath.

The denim pieces were all asymmetrical and the internal stitchwork was wonderful. Reminiscent of almost Carol Christian Poell style work internally. Paired with brass zips... it was perfection.

At $2400 or so though... it better be.

I have to say though, any girl that wears it... and wears it well.... I'll fall in love with.:D

I can't find photos of the current season stuff online... anyone have links? It's a pity that photos wouldn't even do that skirt justice.

his work is amazing. thanks to everyone for posting articles and pictures. :flower:

That croc backed coat is SUBLIME, all of those clothes are delicious.

Thanks so much spike!

^ Isn't that coat to DIE for???

I shudder to think of the price.

Some shots of it on the runway (I love the way the bottom is cut fuller than the rest of the coat, judging from the pictures is moves beautifully.)

I forgot to take a pic of this coat that was featured in the Saks catalog, it was of a black leather single breasted military coat with a belt that was woven through the body of the coat. It was gorgeous...Now where is that damn catalog?

He understands a womans body like no other designer. He is really a true master. I love that photo of Gisele in the black Alaia dress, she fills out his clothing perfectly.
