Baby Phat S/S 06 New York

I like them. I think that 'ghetto' clothes, as they're being called, have a place too.

I don't like this. Or at least, what I am seeing. I think the cutting is bad at times, the gold sucks and it's just uninspired and dated. No thanks Kimora...

It reminds me Versace a lot..... Those hair, make-up, bling-bling...

its like the over glorified trailor trash skank Gretchen Wilson says "Victoria's Secret, well that stuff's reall nice, but i can find the same damn thing on a Wal-Mart shelf half price, and still look sexy, just as sexy as those models on TV"

Only replace Victorias' Secret with Versace, and Wal-Mart with Baby Phat, and sexy with trashy, and models with hookers, and TV with the street. and you have this collection summed up.

(that song is available on Gretchen's new album, "Gittin' Awl Gittoh on Yeur Aissessss", and she says *** with a lisp)

Not a fan of Baby Phat and to be honest, I've never seen the runway stuff in the stores. The big hair reminded me of Sharon Stone in the movie Casino and someone hear mentioned a Las Vegas feel. I'm assuming Kimora watched Casino and decided that her customer wants to look like a mobsters wife in the 70s. But as someone pointed out it's a bit dated, both the design and the inspiration.

I could see where she was trying to go, just executed the whole thing wrong and LATE. How passe...
She always rips off other designers. Realistically, do you think their customer is going to wear this. I'd rather pay extra for versace.

I totally agree. In some previous collection, she copied dsquared. Versace is so much better.

Ugh I think it's too shiny and golden.... I don't know. I always think of Baby Phat as like sweatpants and tight t shirts lol

And the worst part is how it gets eaten up. In one of my classes there is a girl who seemingly her entire wardrobe is from Baby Phat, Apple Bottoms, Rocawear, Sean John, or those kinds of labels.

And she has the nerve to call it "fashion".
