Oh, I really like that ivory skirt with the back ruffle detail--looks very flattering. Only problem with ruffles on the back of a skirt is that eventually you have to sit down and crush them

yes thank you,
i did think about that problem when i designed this skirt. thats why the ruffles are placed more to the side than the centre back, also they are cut on the bias to reduce the crushing and help the fabric to remain "alive" and maintain its shape regardless of the process of standing and sitting.

i think a lot of the new detail shots turned out very well...
the details make a huge difference in cases like this...

congrats...
and good luck with the pr thing...
sounds good...:flower:

ZamB you're so talented! I'm sure you'll get the recognition you deserve soon enough. :flower: Especially adore that blue dress, the waistcoat/jacket & pants ensemble with the ruched blooms and black dress with cut-outs. Your details are just exquisite!

Wow... just looked back and saw all the detail shots. Love it all even more. It looked minimal from afar but up close, with all the ruffles and intricate shapes created, it's very unique.

i really hope they do, Pr is so expensive now, and it seems if you are not running the gamut from Pr. to showroom, lookbook to linesheet, no one takes you seriously. Designing seems to be getting more and more to be a business for the rich,(or the well connected) of which i am neither. sometimes what keeps me going is guilt. (the feeling that i couldnt live with myself if i never uilized this great talent that i have). It baffles me that i do such good work and i get so little support. I mean, no one owes me anything and ppl are not obligated to me in any way, but when i go to the stores and i see bland clothing, poorly made clothing, cheap fabrics and ill fitting peices it makes me wonder what are these stores looking for. i contacted one showroom yesterday (of whoich i shall not name but i shall give you a clue, they hired someone to wrestle "couture" garments from a certain actress turned designer who used to customise thrift store clothing in the name of the Lord with a male ex-partner) and they told me that i had to be in at least twenty, yes(20) stores before they even consider looking at the collection. now tell me, if i were in 20 stores would i be calling them for showroom representation?

zam...
what you say is very true...
i don't think most people who want to get into the business really have a clue what they are letting themselves in for....

i don't kno whow young designers do it, really...
you need SO MUCH money for the initial investment and then for some years hence until you get your name out there and some brand recognition....

which is all a big gamble...because sometimes it never happens...
i don't know what to tell you other than to just keep doing what you're doing and believing in yourself...

**i feel your pain and frustration...
it's not all that different as a stylist...
it's just on a smaller scale...
