Baby Phat ss 05

As nasty as it is, for once it ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE A COLLECTION. There is a huge absence of "urban style" stuff, denim, etcetera. The looks actually have some design to them, at least.

But it's still ugly.

I don't see what's so horrible about it, she must be doing something right if people are buying her clothes. I actually like some of it, oh and poor Isabeli

honestly, i feel so sorry for models when they trip liek that, i mean they should take safety precautions....

I don't see the horror in it either...but it is *urbanwear* which by default is a horror to many. If Prada or some other label strutted out looks like these, some people would praise them as cutting edge and daring...... but the combination of Kimora and Baby Phat is just too much for many.....

Still not too sure who buys this stuff though.... but I thinkits an improvement over some of her previous work.

This is just me, but if Miuccia ever sent models out looking like booty shaking tramps in a Nelly video, I'd hunt her down and shoot her myself.

That hat on Liya is still bothering me, it looks too much like Treacy's stuff.....not that I expect anything original from Kimora, but it still bothers me to see it.

I think Baby Phat collections are hilarious.

At least Kimora has the dedication to churn them out, season after season.

Does anyone know what Baby Phat's sales are like? Does she have a market? :innocent:

she does actually have a big market. Most music videos have girls wearing baby phat and many more girls that want to look sexy!!!

I love the printed silk jacket Liya is wearing!

Darling, if Miuccia sent her recycling bin down the runway, no one would say anything and Club Monaco will knock them off in a variety of Fall colors.

I've never seen any of the runway clothes in the stores. All I ever see are the jeans, t shirts, sweats, etc.

Do any buyers purchase the runway looks?

Versace was hideously tacky in a fairly well-made, well-cut, slightly sardonic way...

why are we speaking in generalities...miuccia has sent out collections she has called "ugly" or "tacky" and they were still embraced by the fashion press as pure gold.

Nobody. The runway show is a bad joke, yet can be afforded because Simmons is a multi-millionaire. Everyone knows that the only stuff that sells are tshirts, because let's face it, most teenage girls simply don't have the money for anything else (sadly), and adults wouldn't touch it.

The Baby Phat line is bought by teenagers and adult women. There is also a 'plus size' line. She sells clothing, underwear, bags, sunglasses, costume and real jewerly. But the bread and butter of the line is the jeans wear.

The runway clothing is available by special order or at the flagship store in Soho.
