Babyshambles blog No 3: In which Mik is hailed as our saviour again
A recurring theme in these interviews in France is our host remarking on Mik's 'calming influence' on the band. Which always leaves us in hysterics.

Still in France, we're having a right old time of it. This morning I cried with laughter as Sally gave me a full account of what happened in the hotel lobby after I bowed out early last night. It involved Mik and Peter wrestling half naked, Adam negotiating some overzealous French fans and someone relieving themselves in the lift. Shan't say who, it wasn't their finest moment really.
A recurring theme in these interviews is the point where our host turns to Mik and says: "So Mik, I read that you are responsible for getting Babyshambles back on the straight and narrow, that you are a calming influence on the band." Invariably, Peter, Adam and I burst into hysterical laughter, partly at the idea of him being a "calming influence" and partly at Mik's face as he glances at us guiltily before launching into his, "Yeah its true" response. Too funny.
We played seven songs on Canal+ and also covered She Loves You by The Beatles on a show called Taratata. I can't explain how much fun it was screaming, "SHE LOVES YOU YEEEAH YEEEEAAAH YEEEEEEAAAAAH!!!", with the boys all pounding the hell out of our instruments in front of a perplexed studio audience. Brilliant!
Last day tomorrow... Shame, really.

I see them yesterday, they played 7 songs, it was brilliant.
And they are really sweet and funny, we talk to them several minutes, it was really nice.

Doherty and Babyshambles are in Glasgow for a tiny MTV2 show…

Pete Doherty has hit Scotland in style with a very special secret gig for MTV Two’s Gonzo Tour.
The notorious frontman and Babyshambles played their smallest show in years at the Glasgow Barfly running through much of their new album Shotter’s Nation.
Doherty was not announced as the headliner for the final Gonzo 5th Birthday Tour gig - though many fans seemed to know the band were in town.
Looking healthier than ever the frontman wrecked the stage at the end of the set, the group also sounded better than during previous shambolic shows.
The four-piece played a 45-minute starting with Delivery- their current single- and fitting in old favourites like Kilamanjaro and a raucous F*ck Forever.
Before being interviewed by Zane Lowe Babyshambles typically caused problems by becoming locked on their bus.
Luckily Pete- sporting new red hair- and the gang escaped to play a mental show to the 200 baying punters.
Earlier Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong supported along with superb pop-punks Operator Please.
We Are Scientists were the original headliners for the Scotland show but pulled out late on.
