Babyshambles

i like the new album, but i'm actually kind of disapointed... i think the sound is too clean, i feel like they're being too comercial, trying to hard to sell records.

of course i can't blame them for wanting to reach a wider audience, but i feel the other songs had more soul to them, they were more personal, more raw... :( i miss pat walden and his fender jaguar's gritty sound. of course i like mik a lot, too, he's a wonderful musician, but it's just different...

so, i don't know.. i'm torn.

^ agreed. Although there are some great songs on the new album. I really like the recorded version of There She Goes (ALH), Delivery & Lost Art of Murder.

Actually, I honestly believe that Pete deep inside is a bit of a pop-man, and now when he's done rebelling with his 'denial band' on Down in Albion he's actually making the music closest to his heart -
poppy rock with some sugary sweet lyrics!:p;)

I have a weakness for Baddie's boogie... I make time to listen to the CD but I must really say that so far so good!!! Pete has given a lot of himself in the songs and I find all the stuff that make me love him and I am likely to be convinced by his sense of humour f.e with the veiled reference to pop music especially Wham! ("Club tropicana the drinks are free, stick one in his face for me").

Baddies Boggie is amazing, yes :), And I have always loved the little pop-culture references in his songs.

Here in France there is a very huge promo around SN with posters in the street and the metro, and they deserve it, there are some really good songs (I'm in love with that version of Un Bilo Titled).

Pete Doherty makes live return with pub gig

Babyshambles man celebrates leaving rehab with show

Pete Doherty returned to live action at the weekend (October 6) with a solo gig to celebrate completing his stint in rehab.

The Babyshambles man played at The Sun Inn in Marlborough, Wiltshire not far from the Clouds Clinic he was attending, according to The Sun's Bizarre.

Doherty performed a short acoustic set, sipping Guinness between songs, as he played requests for the packed public house.

The pub is possibly set to become Doherty's local as he is expected to remain in Wiltshire to comply with his current bail conditions.

Meanwhile, Babyshambles were celebrating a Top Ten entry for new album 'Shotter's Nation', which went into the UK album charts at Number Five yesterday (October 7)
