Balenciaga F/W 09.10 Paris

I won't dismiss the entire collection...there are a few (very few) images/looks that I do like...but, as a whole, I'm not completely impressed.

From my perspective...the layered and draping silk skirts look too much like window curtains, or satin bed-sheets that have been draped, tiered, layered, etc. I think they translate better in the black versions...they're a bit more subtle.

I think Nicholas does a better presentation with severe looks for women...his attempt at trying to present feminine collections doesn't look as strong or sculptural.

I'm also extremely disappointed with the venue. The previous location was perfect...it became a Balenciaga signature.

Hmmmm......its so so soft for a Balenciaga fall collection, which kinda sux, because I always appreciate Balenciaga's fall harshness (like FW 08 09).
I still like it though, I guess. Its a bit boring though and the prints kinda suck, and I dont like the shoes, theyre too weird lol

I think I hate it

The draping is all so heavy and overdone. I mean, those draped skirts and pants are bulky. Combined with the fact that they're silk satin they just look terrible and, it pains me to say it, cheap.

The only look that I had a truly positive reaction to was the white shirt/black skirt combo on Iris. To me that was the only thing that looked right in this collection, the rest of it looks retro. Great that he took inspiration from YSL, but did it have to be the mid-80s portion of his career that he took it from?

I think the worst part of it all is that this collection is made up entirely of things he's done before, bold prints, draping, strong shoulders, head to toe looks....but I don't think any of it is working well here.

I think for the first time I have to say I hate this collection as well. I like the softness of the skirts since he has been all about very defined details. but even that doesn't save this disaster. This is a serious let down.

Oh god, I don't know. I'm sure if this was any other collection I'd appreciate it more but just because this is a Ghesquiere collection I'm uneasy right now. It does seem very classical, the drape of the skirts and dresses evoke a lot of maturity compared to prior collections. The prints, however, are doing nothing for me.

Nice collection, but for Nicholas, not nice enough.

I DON'T LIKE THIS.....
I'm really disapointed with this... and I LOVE BALENCIAGA ALWAYS! it's not good... the 16 year old beautiful models look frumpy and boring, you would only turn your head to look at them to say..why are they wearing that curtain?
The only looks that are OK are some of thee black fitted suits, Kinga's look for instance, but thats nothing new or earth shattering..

I always drool and desire Balenciaga,... you couldn't GIVE me the draped print dresses...

THe 80s are ruining everything I love, hate marc jacobs, Hate Gucci, THank God for Prada is all I can say!

it's pretty and right on point with what's going on. However, I won't be saving up for any of the pieces (unlike the balenciaga school boy jackets from fall 07, which I wear at least once a week).

This is Defitanely dissapointing.....coming from nicolas it's boring. It's stunning but for balenciaga it's a NO. And here I thought it was going to be my fave of the day

Wow... this was... horribly horrible. I think what really made it go from "mind-boggling horrible" to "...COME ON!?" was the styling and makeup. I think I spotted my grandma only she looked taller and thinner and more boring. I want my twelve clicks back!
