Balenciaga F/W 09.10 Paris

WOW 80s are officially back, damn, well thank god they at least look better this time around.

I love the draped silk skirts, and fantastic coats and although im not to fond of the pattern's they do attract the eye.

oh i just realized the dotted stocking

the silk skirt is gorgeous though

even Nicolas can't resist returning to the mainstream 80s:D
but the shoes are hideous
such a relaxed collection, understandable and simple styling, bracelets are pretty eye-catching and love the lace tube top mixing with pantsuit
indeed i am not deeply impressed by this, or in some degree i feel indifference to it  maybe i will change my mind after seeing video/HQ, just maybe

don't like it...the strong shoulder and those 80s influence...and the shoes really distracted..where is that alien influences or space or scubadiving dress??? but this is so weird.

Where is nicholas guesquiere`s modern, futuristic, groundbreaking vision in this collection?
This doesnt look like him at all, this is way to conservative, commercial and simply not Balenciaga at all.
I was expecting so much more, as his fall/winter collections are usually so memorable and full of unique pieces everyone drools for...
I was hoping not to regret when I said this collection looked marvelous, but sadly I regret it soo much! I cannot wait to see balmain later and see if Christophe Decarnin will save this day.

hmm i don't know, when i FIRST saw the photos i thought someone had mistakenly posted some old collection. this collection is supposedly NG's interpretation of YSL but to be honest it's not very well done

The prints hurt my eyes somewhat. Some of this I like as sperates but I can't get my head around it all as a collection yet, there's a lot to take in

For me, the proportion and finish is missing in the first looks, I hate the suits with draping, the skirts and the cream coat.
I love the printed dresses though and the devore spotted one, still Balenciaga and still challenging without being unflattering.
The shoes with drapery on the side look horrible, a bit pointless and I dont like the thickness around the ankle.

Has anyone noticed a 'formula' in the past several Balenciaga collections? A few variations on the same skirt, a few variations on a trouser (the harem skirts are actually built into the leg) and some incredible body-con couture dresses at the end that barely make it to the stores.

I can't really make sense of this collection as a whole...rather disappointed...I like the lace bra thing with the blazers though, I bet some of these as a separate are great and made for these economic times.

OMG,This is just stunning!
I like everything except the prints.
The draped ones are the highlights of the show.

agree

omg

in fact its a very right move in terms of commercial success of the brand, i really am dissapointed because of the lack of the "Balenciaga edge" to the collection...i am quite into drapings and some of the prints...not really into those horrid stockings and shoes...but who knows..maybe it will turn out tasty in the end once we come to suck in new season's trends....who knows who knows......

I can't stand it. This is not the Balenciaga I know. I expected this to look different, judging by the pre-fall collection. What is with this season's popular aesthetic? It needs to stay in the 80s.

This isn't near as directional as Balenciaga should be. And I'm seeing *way* too much Jacobs and Balmain in here...

instead of moving forward he went backwards
i know 80s is a big trend but i was hoping he would take it
to the next level...im a little underwhelmed...i like it but it seems
like this should have been before s/s 08..the draping is amazing though
its a good collection but not the best
