Ballet flats

Don't they get a little heavy with an aditional sole?

There's a little bit of a difference but I don't really notice it when they're on my feet, the rubber layer is about a millimetre and a half thick so not too heavy.

what flats are you wearing in the winter?

Me? Right now I'm wearing a pair of La Canadienne black suede boots with a bit of a wedge heel. I'd planned to get a flat pair but really liked these ones. It took me a while to get used to the wedge but it feels good now and it feels strange if I put on a pair of flats after wearing the boots, lol. I have the Lanvin flat black leather boots from last F/W but I just wear them in the fall, not when it starts threatening to snow, lol. I don't think the leather on those is tough enough for snow. We'll see what my suede boots look like by spring but they're supposed to be winter-proof.

(Trying to upload a picture but it's not working...)

FashionGrrrrl,
:flower:
Thank you for your help!
Do you have a picture of your Lanvin flat boots, if it's not too much trouble.

FashionGrrrrl: Those look some comfy and they're beautiful! :woot: I've been trying to find boots like those...

kissmesweet - They are very comfy! I got them at Browns in Toronto though I'm not sure how much that helps you. You can check out www.lacanadienne.ca if you're interested (they don't sell them through the website though). I know Zappos has a large selection for sale online but they're not international, there must be other sites or ways to get them.

aris - Sure, it's no trouble at all, I'll upload them in a few minutes. One thing I can recommend that I didn't think about before you mentioned the heaviness of the sole on those flats is that a shoe repair person should be able to put a thicker rubber sole on any flat if you like, about 4 1/2 to 5 millimetres thick. I have it on one pair (though I really bought them to wear during the summer so I should have it redone with a thin sole sometime) and it seems to be a foam-like material with a rubber layer on the bottom so it's thicker but not noticeably heavier on your feet, if that's what you're looking for. It's not what I was going for on these flats but they're from this F/W season and I took them in a month ago so I should have specified I wanted a thin sole for the summer, lol. I probably just need to tell them exactly what I want every time.

You can definitely do it after you've worn them already, I get impatient and wear my new shoes before I get them zipsoled all the time, lol.

Thanks! Now if I can just get my lazy toosh to the cobbler...

The thick ones they gave me do have better traction than the thin soles too, I forgot to mention, and they seem to be fairly durable for their weight. You could always ask to see what type of material they'd put on.

Still waiting on Photobucket to work...

lol, I forgot I can upload straight from the computer, I've been doing too much LiveJournal posting today. :p

Lanvin black leather boots from F/W 2006 (my pics). They're a little loose at the top, I might have them altered sometime. They were made for someone a bit taller than 5'2".

You're welcome! I love taking pics of my shoes, I should post my whole collection after my most recent purchases arrive, heehee. ^_^

That Banana Republic shoe is really cute. I think I may have to check them out, the color and print selection sounds really great. I have never had a pair of BR shoes before, are they comfortable?

I'm not sure 'cause I don't have any either. I tried on one pair of flats a while ago that had a raised part under the toes and it felt weird but hopefully that's not the case with these ones.

LOL I read your first post too quickly to see that you didn't even get the shoes yet. I was too wrapped up in the photo to realize, I suppose. When you get them, please let us know how they are! My local Banana Republic doesn't have much in way of shoes and they always sell out so quick if they do have anything super great like these.
