I don't know exactly why I was commenting yesterday Balmain's resort and today pre-fall 😅 but this is fierce.
In both collections, you sense that someone is behind them, and you know what? This person doesn't care about what you think of good or bad taste.

Resort and Pre-fall at the same time?? He could very well have merged the two in just one (and call it Pre-Resort or something).
More of his usual explosive diarrhea of references to other designers work; but this time mixed with his own (little) archival references.

This collection marks a notable transformation in Olivier Rousteing's design approach at Balmain. While Balmain's Resort 2024 collection appeared to lack Rousteing's distinctive touch, this Pre-Fall 2025 collection demonstrates an integration of his signature look with newfound sophistication.

The collection's technical achievements are particularly evident in its flou work - the fluid, draped elements that add a new dimension to Balmain's typically structured aesthetic. This expertise suggests the JPG collaboration has done wonders for him, especially in handling delicate fabrics like chiffon and lace with unprecedented lightness. The bias-cut dresses, for instance, showcase a technical mastery that elevates beyond Balmain's previous offerings.

The collection features standout accessories and jewelry pieces, especially in the belt category. However, the handbag designs remain a mess...

I can demonstrate this evolution beautifully:

The vase-shaped bustier represents genuine innovation in form, while a white shirt paired with a draped trompe l'oeil skirt achieves a level of sophistication previously unseen at Balmain. The leather pieces, particularly a strapless dress and a draped top with a link belt, showcase how Rousteing has refined his handling of the house's signature material. The manipulation in the encrusted brocade skirt's draping, indicates a more nuanced understanding of fabric.

The collection maintains Balmain's commercial viability through well-executed separates - including denim options, tweed and leather jackets.

The men's offering is much better than the Resort 24 offering. Lots of desirable outfits and jackets throughout, with many being innovations in menswear. Some really garish stuff like the fringe on the shoulders but that is made up by 3 or 4 absolutely perfectly executed military style jackets.
