He needs to take a chill pill and not be so myopic. It's like he's so obsessed with thinking he has to do crazy weird techniques or 1000s of hours of embroidery to be "good" that he doesn't step back and realize he made a mess.

That’s really all he did when he started at the house. The pieces were nothing special, but they were exquisitely decorated. Without heavy embroidery and embellishments the clothing is quite tacky and unimaginative. His taste is questionable at best.

Frankly, I much prefer Olivier’s version. It’s equally as OTT gaudy and ridiculous, but not as literal as Galliano’s (…although the turquoise croc gown is such perfection). And by this stage of Galliano’s career (and ego), he had transformed into Liberace/Siegfried & Roy/Cher— literally, and designing for Vegas rather than Paris. And his once purely concentrated masterclass in equal parts designs, skills and showmanship for enhancing a woman’s form had turned into extravagant drag pageants, more concerned with these bloated, costumed spectacles than about dressing women, as witnessed by the above showing. It was such a pleasure to see him return to his roots, and what made him so brilliant— while still forging forward, with Margiela. That fall from grace did him all kinds of wonders.
