Balmain S/S 2014 Paris

It's a love/hate for me. Some peices are stunning and some peices are...blah:lol:

Its VERY late 80s rich b*tch. Very Dynasty circa 1987 lol. I guess he had Alexis Carrington in mind when he designed this.

I also got the vibe from Chanel, late 80's. I defiantly loved a lot of what he showed, some of those pieces I found a tab it tacky.. I know the price of these collection has to be outrageous but what Balmian collection isn't.

Better than last season, but still a train wreck. He needs to put away his Dynasty tapes and leave the past where it is.

Yes, I can clearly see the Chanel reference. There are some pretty outstanding individual pieces in this collection. I'm just not sure if I really like the collection as a whole.

Dated and heavy with a touch of Chanel, better than last season, but not good enough imo.

Chanel from past + last spring-summer collection was first what came to my mind. anyway, it looks good. like most of pieces.

Man, how boring and predictable the Balmain silhouette has become? It's like the same dress, skirt, pants and jacket re-done every season re done in different patterns and fabrics (even that ship has sailed). Olivier is almost entering Dolce & Gabbana territory here. He gotta stop relying on everything France produced on late 80's/early 90's and get a mind of his own.

I am not sure if this is S/S 2013; or S/S 2014. Anyways, it looks S/S 1987...

Surprised to read all these negative comments, I like it.

Joining the choir of voices who say this collection is strong with Chanel.
Some (just few) hideous stuff, but the rest is ok. Like some of the skirts - perfect.
Just wish Balmain would move in some other direction. These is so much more to fashion than the 80s.

It is always nice although too literally 80s images.
