Barbara Walters named First Lady Michelle Obama the most fascinating person of 2009.

The other people on the list includes: International Pop Sensation Lady Gaga, Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Brett Favre, FOX News Anchor Glenn Beck, TV Reality Star Kate Gosselin, Michael Jackson's Children (counted as one), Controversial Pop Singer Adam Lambert, Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, Multi-talented Director/Actor Tyler Perry, and Jenny Sanford.

oh boy...this'll be a laugh...and scariness from Palin.

It was aired a few hours ago.

And Lady Gaga, which is probably the only person who actually made any type of legitimately interesting headlines this year was Number 10. The whole Sarah Palin craze was so 2008 so I don't get why she's still considered interesting. Who's Brett Favre and Jenny Sanford? Ehhh.... Kate Gosselin isn't interesting; her children are.

Barbara Walters must have had a little too much fiber before she made the list.

^well, you really can't expect that she would overtake first lady obama. to be honest, she's the only person on there that i actually find fascinating. the rest are mind numbingly pervasive and truly annoying, imo.

what i found to be funny though that in it's promotion barbara actually felt that some of these people were actually that revolutionary. lady gaga may have her thing but what is actually so new about what she does compared with what björk already has originated and accomplished. with much more substance,i might add. and of course the music...well quite honestly if gaga didn't dress and perform in the manner she does, would anybody really be that bowled over by her that much? her music sounds like it was ripped off from miss kittin with touches of poppier britney in its lyricism.

and adam lambert  you want a true gay artist and performer,go listen to and watch patrick wolf please. not some publicity wh*ore who had to go on some generic talent show to be recognised.

I am happy that the Octomom is not on the list, but do we really need to hear more from the Gosselin's? Scott, I agree with you that lady Obama is really the only one that I find fascinating as well.

Bleh. How about some actually fascinating people, instead of who made the headlines this last year? That does not make one fascinating. Kate Gosselin really, really?

The Gosselins have done nothing for television. Pure exploitation of her children.

First of all, are there no fascinating people who are not American?
Second, Lady GaGme is not fascinating. She has utterly insipid music and dresses like a clown.

I think this is American-based considering it's Barbara Walters. And that lady is slowly but surely slipping into senility.

ok this may be pointless to post but the things you said about lady gaga and adam (and with regards to patrick wolf) is exactly how i feel. when i read the post i thought wait did i write that

but yes this list is all publicity..

This list is seriously lacking. I'm all for Michelle being on the list and all, but Kate Gosselin, what makes her fascinating? The fact that she's wh*ring out her eight kids and going through a divorce??? Big deal! And were MJ's kids actually interviewed? Also, the only thing Brett Favre did this year was come out of retirement and switch to the Vikings. Woohoo:rolleyes:
