This collection is very hit or miss to me. Some looks are simply horrid and unflattering but a lot of it is seriously great. I like the risky color and fabric combinations, the subtle patchwork elements. Love what they've done with the waistlines in this and the SS12 collection. I feel like this is a nice continuation of the Spring collection. The belt (not the fringed one) is amazing but looks a bit awkward with some of the maxi dresses but just because I don't like the black accessories against the softer colors, I do like the idea of wearing edgier accessories to these looks. My favorite dress is the very light lavender/mint green one with the yellow lace inserts in the neckline.

I'm not enjoying the colour combinations here. And some of it, as Psylocke pointed out, is incredibly unflattering. Not their best delivery by far.

Plus, this is pre-fall and there's only one jacket and the rest are sheer-panelled dresses.
There are some really nice dresses here, as usual, but it is pretty standard BCBG Max Azria - a lot of quite simply-made dresses disguised with interesting fabrics and manipulations, often quite shapeless.
I felt a bit of Claire Wright-Keller's first Chloe collection and then I remembered she also used the heavy leather belts with the lightweight dresses..

Some of this outfits looks really bad on model, then how would they look on normal human. Also do hate those belts. On the other hand, I really like mix of colours.

With that being said, I do think some pieces from this BCBG collection are horrid, like that yellow & black lace gown (that doesn't even sound right ), but I tink the first half looks pretty good

lol That's one of the pieces I actually like.

For the past few seasons at BCBG Max Azria, designers Max and Lubov Azria have been emphasizing a floaty and streamlined, often floor-sweeping silhouette. They described pre-fall as "Slavic soul meets bohemian spirit," and there was a folkloric feel to the collection's most distinctive piece, namely, an accordion-pleat printed wool skirt with intricate embroidery and grosgrain accents.

In general, this lineup picked up where Spring left off. BCBG's now-signature cutout shoulders, handkerchief hemlines, sporty drawstring details, and pops of neon appeared here again. At times, the combination of these elements erred on the overwhelming side. Only a girl with the sartorial audacity (not to mention killer bod) of Abbey Lee Kershaw, for example, could pull off look 17: a racy halter maxidress with denim-printed silk and peekaboo lace panels running along the bust and up both legs. But more often than not, the Azrias combined the aforementioned motifs in a way that was fresh and wearable.

gets my vote for worst use of accessories this season so far...

Fashion has seasons, but Los Angeles really doesn’t. So although the Azrias have to conform to the fashion schedule and design BCBG Max Azria in accordance with the weather, when it comes to spring at least, they know that what their women want to wear at that time of year is pretty much what they’ll want to wear in summer too: wispy chiffon dresses that can be thrown on as soon as they hit stores in June and July.

The dozen or so floaty, colorful frocks that the label showed for pre-fall advanced the ethnic vibe that started to surface in September. Chiffon tunics and pleated skirts were embroidered with Eastern European Bohemian–-inspired patterns, and there was a clear gypsy influence on the scarf-dresses with black lace insets separating panels of blue, chartreuse, and coral chiffon.

But as it turned out, the standout piece here wasn’t a dress at all. Rather it was a shrunken leather jacket with heavy embroidery and hammered metal beads, the kind many city girls have been clamoring for of late. And for the Azrias’s West Coast compatriots, it’ll be just the thing to wear over those wispy dresses when the temperature dips below the standard 75.
