Thats exactly what I was reminded of too, the Kodama! I can't decide if the masks are scary or sweet though.
As for the collection, I think it is most definitely sweet, I really love 2, 5, 6, 12, 13, 29, 30.... OK, I guess I really like most of them, They have a fun-ness, and a kind of innocence. Overall, very cute!

GODDDD!!!! LOVE them!! This one looks like Peter Pan's movie!!!! I wish I had them all:woot::heart:

The last time I opened a thread on one of Willhelm's collections, I absolutely hated it. It was too loud, too ugly, too everything. But this is surprisingly non-headache inducing. But above all, the optimism is very refreshing!

i love bernhard... this collection is amazing. there are some really great pieces. totally fell in love with look #22.

well, ok, seems bw has expo
starting 13 july , running to jan next year
at momu, anvers.

i buy booze, we all meet at my place.
for cigarettes.
then we go see a movie instead.

...kus...
come to my place for a barbecue!

have to say the collection is def an improvement ...
i think i was starting to give up on him..
but give me a break with the masks and 'doobies'...
...
it only distracts and takes away from the clothing...
i find it terribly juvenile and annoying...
and not very clever or cool...
brings it back down several notches for me because of that....

*doesn't he want to be respected at all?...
what is the point of this?...
i do NOT get it..
:ermm:

dammit
i be there. for barbeque.

now im hungry and have to go back to
what are you eating thread.

i know, off topic, etc

:heart:bw

*i already have a few things from this coll (and nearly everything from the men's) on my wishlist... can't wait to wear it...

Come on,I don't think questioning whether or not he wants to be respected is really fair. the fact of the matter is,people either love him or hate him,it's totally subjective and up to one's taste. we know bernhard;we know his sense of humour and vision pretty well by now. and seeing things as they are,I think BW is quite respected....for his personality and the fact that he can make great clothes at the same time. he does do these look-books and presentations,of course, for the narrative, but the response and even the demand in the shops are completely different.

^ I agree. And, respected by whom, anyway...? I think the Condé Nast set has pretty much given up on him, and he them, but I wouldn't say it's resulted in a precipitous lowering of his profile. He seems to be carving out a niche for himself, outside the loop of traditional fashion-media outlets.

Good points, Scott and droogist.

What I love about BW, is that he avoids taking himself too seriously, while continuing to produce more than respectable garments. The look book may be theatrical (although I like the masks myself--eerily whimsical), but in person the clothes really speak for themselves. The stuff sells out like crazy here....

I also have a deep appreciation for his pricing, which I personally think is unbelievably reasonable.

laika, you are so right about him selling out! i was speaking with Joseph Quantaro by e-mail who's head buyer at Seven, and he told me that Bernhard sells out very, very quickly there! thankfully, they had one thing for me to order there this time
