i feel like bernhard is starting to enter upon territory more synonymous with vivienne westwood. perhaps even a nod to the old london label 'bodymap'. i wish he would return to that sort of sweetness and kitschiness....the stuff that was a little more distinct. there's still some good pieces in this and the quality(as in the making of)is likely to remain a high standard but the aesthetics are becoming a little redundant.

there are more pics on his site but it might be a bit too racy for the forums.

I still find his pieces as fun as those I loved from him when I was just getting into his work (esp. the sweatshirt dresses from winter 2002 ).. they're far from being as remarkable and smile inducing but clearly the sense of humor and quirk is still there.. it's just the way he presents and 'embellishes' his collections what seems to be stuck.. it's too much 16 year-old club kid, in 2006. I don't want him to grow up but I do think he could find a way to evolve and push the envelope, all while continuing to be as youthful as he likes to be. It's crazy how his collections from almost 10 years ago look newer and fresher than the stuff he's been doing for the past 4 years. :ninja:

Ugh -.- I just can't like it... Looks like something Kesha would be wearing :yuk:

mullet, that's what i think too! it's astonishing how relevant and strong those collections still are....they still continue to resonate with me. they were very special and very different. and very craft-oriented as well. there was just a higher degree of thoughtfulness in those collections. this seems very trendy at the moment...this sort of kooky club look.....
