Best Faux Diamond Studs?

Hi-

Can anybody give me their thoughts on the best imitation diamonds? I'd really like to buy a pair of 1 ct (2 ct total weight) studs for my ears and don't mind paying a bit extra if they are believable looking.

Check out moissanite, but really, there cost isn't much less than diamonds. CZ is always going to look fake.

It's doubtful anyone will be (a) knowledgeable enough (b) get up close enough to your ears to tell the average pair of CZ studs from real diamonds. Unless you're an expert, nobody will know until they look at the backing and realize it's not a screw-back which would keep real diamonds secure on the ear.

Neiman Marcus carries a line of faux diamonds called Fantasia... they're not at all cheap, in terms of CZs, but they're probably the most realistic you'll get.

I got some nice CZs from Claire's, actually. They're really nice, and get lots of compliments, and like Gleam said, nobody gets close enough to my ears to see that it's just CZ anyway.

I think that Swarovski crystals are just as gorgeous. That whole DeBeers thing has turned me off diamonds, anyways.
