Best Self-Tanners

Okay, I am extreeeemly pale skinned. If I don't tan I go porcelain. And, frankly, I don't like this look. I don't think it suits me.

I like being tanned but I don't want to be wrinkled and nasty by the time I'm 30. I know beds and the sun are all bad for you.

Self tanners seem to be my only option. I have tried the Mystic Tan and, frankly, I look orange and I hate that look. I am currently using Biotherm self tanner which I thought looked good but recently my boyfriend has made a couple comments about how I look orange (just on the first day after I apply it :P ) So, I need to be moving on...

Because I am so white, am I just destined to look orange when applying self tanners? Or is there any product that will give me a natural looking glow? I mean, I don't want to look like I've just been out in the sun in Cancun for two weeks... I just want to give my skin a bit of colour so strangers don't come up to me on the street and tell me to drink more orange juice.

HELP!

You could try Elemis fake tan. It is rated as one of the best for pale faces. It doesn´t make you orange and leaves skin super soft!

I think there may be a thread on this already, I'm not sure...

But anyway, I have found that Lancome's Flash Bronzer works very well - I would suggest the foam. In my experience, I have found it works well. I am pretty fair-skinned (I have blond hair and pink undertones).

uh oh. I was thinking of trying Mystic Tan, but I am also pale....

I don't want to look orange.

I hate applying self tanner myself. No matter what I do, it turns out streaky, or I miss a spot.

I will try the Lancome's Flash Bronzer. I want to be tan for prom, since I have a white dress. :flower:

Umm I am not a big fan of self tanners, so I actually usually use powder bronzers. They can sometimes be a pain to apply, but if you use it well I think they look a lot more convincing the self tanners. The one I really like to use is by Benefit and it is called "hoola". I think it works really well and everyone has always told me it looks really real. It costs $26 at Sephora.

I'm an avid self-tanner and I usually go get a MagicTan (not MysticTan, its much, much better and real looking) then use the Neutrogena dark formula that comes in a spray bottle every other day after I shower. Everyone thinks I go tanning but I don't! I'm laughably pale in real life......

I have just tried Estee Lauder Supertan, it gives a lovely natural look

Is there a trick to using fake tan? ma cuzin told me to use moisturiser before i apply it but wotever i do it still goes streaky! any tips???

What's a good brand? What brands give off orange tones? I've been thinking of doing sunless tanning for the winter when I'm not outside framing houses. Anyone?

I wouldn't recommend home tanning, but that's just because I'm terrified of orange skin and streaks  If you want to use fake tanner, I would recommend the Mystic Tan :flower:

St Tropez is the best self tanner I have found-very natural color.

I got some Neutrogena Instant Bronze. I'll let you know how it turns out.

My favorite is Lancome flash bronzer, in the foam.

Yes, exfoliating is essential, and puting on lotion beforehand is, as well. Beware of white clothing, though...the tanner actually can still rub off w/ sweat or water (ugh, I know).

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate the night before. Moisturize like crazy (try to stay away from moisturizers with AHAs) and have someone do it for you. I use St. Tropez too and I  it. Elle, I used Lancome also but didn't do the same trick for me :( I wish it did. B/c it is so hard to find St. Tropez where I live!

Have anyone tried L'Oreal Sublime Bronze products? I'm looking for sun-kissed bronzed look since I'm a little pale. I have pale olive skin. I don't want the orangey look, but bronze and natural looking.

i love Lancome Flash Bronzer (face gel)...and I tried Loreal`s sublime gel in a big tube last summer its not so naturall :yuk: (too brownish),but i think it deppends on skintone. :flower:

It seems many people like Lancome Flash Bronzer so far. Thanks for the warning on L'Oreal Sublime Bronze. I don't mind somewhat light brownish bronze look because I tan easily so it won't be an issue. I don't want to spend time in the sun just to get a tan. :)
