Best & Worst of F/W 2017.18

My top picks would be
Loewe
Céline
Max Mara
Marc Jacobs
Burberry
Sies Marjan
Calvin Klein
Jacquemus
Attico
Chanel

Honorable mentions are Ferragamo, Chloe, Moschino, Mugler, Maison Margiela and Gabriela Hearst and Givenchy, for a design team, this shows a great sign if the new CD has a strong vision and capable of ulitze his tools at the house.

Best:

Delpozo
Lacoste
Proenza Schouler
Marc Jacobs
Fendi
Prada
Moschino
Marni
Givenchy
Balenciaga
Undecover
Chanel
Miu Miu

Worst:

Louis Vuitton
Dior
Saint Laurent
Versace
Dolce & Gabbana
Alexander Wang

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Balmain as worst collection.

Much worse than Versace, Dolce or LV if you ask me.

I did actually. Balmain is always on the worst list for me. :D

The kind of clothes they do at Balmain are probably the ones that I like the least, but I don't think it's a bad collection at all. It's tacky because they are targeting a tacky customer, but it's pretty well done considering what it is. It's consistent, coherent, they have very good fabrics, nice embroideries...

I really dislike Yamamoto as a fashion designer, but I would never consider his collections among the worst ones. It's perfect for his style and it's always pretty well done. It's just that I really can't stand his style.

I think we should do a list for the ones that we like or didn't like and another one for the best and worst ones.

Balmain has been consistent in it ugliness but i think that it was better this time, more focused.
In a way, i cannot be disappointed by Balmain because i know that it will always be the same. Sometimes, it will be slightly better and sometimes it will reach another unexpected level of ugliness.

I think people did not like Versace & LV because they know Donatella & Nicolas can do much, much more better.

D&G is a lost cause.

^I totally agree with your statement. The expectation for Balmain was so low that it anything he put would be passable.

^That's sort of it. It's like Elie Saab... Who even watch his shows?

BTW, best shows according to Vogue Runway:

Calvin Klein
Prada
Paco Rabanne
Loewe
J.W. Anderson
The Row
Alexander McQueen:blink:
Dries Van Noten
Balenciaga

^Elie Saab has been trying new things lately. At least nothing looks atrocious.

I don't take Vogue Runway list seriously anymore. And I still get all the praises for Balenciaga. Bad copies of old archive is barely creative.

This list is a joke. IMO, only Loewe deserve to be there...
Marc Jacobs was far more superior to CK.
Prada...I feel like nobody is truly honest about Prada. Good or bad, the collections get praises.
Paco Rabanne was good but far from being the best.
JWA, maybe...LFW was boring.

THE ROW: good cast!
DVN: good cast!
Balenciaga: pure hype.

At least, they did not included Gucci...

There not "best" show for me. No show gave me shivers and made me emotional, intrigued or obsessed to the point of replaying the video again and again.

Balenciaga was surprising. I liked the set, the music, the colors, the casting, the accessories and the Couture tableau in the end was kinda unexpected coming from Gvasalia. I would call it a "good" collection.

Worst : Gareth Pugh. Without a doubt. He has been repeating himself for too long. The clothes look poorly done, he has no taste for fabrics or details. He should just do costume design and leave fashion I think.

And Hermès : most boring show of the season.

I resaw McQueen again (not that I like loosing my time...) and it's beyond my comprehension why Vogue would put it among the best 10 collections of the season. Not that I take that list seriously either, but OMG, it's on another level of... absurdity.
