I know there is a couple topics on this already but I couldn't find anything specificly related to what exactly happens during a bikini wax? I'm thinking of getting one for this summer but I don't know what to expect (other than the obvious) haha! Can anyone tell me step by step what they do so I don't get overly freaked out and what sort of results to expect and for how long?

Thanks!:flower:

it s gonna hurt, but the more often u do it the less u ll feel the pain. just don t think about what the woman s doing to u. i usually read a magazine or text msg or even talk to her bout something else other than what she s doing. and keep taking deep breaths:cool:

I personally don't experience much pain when I get waxed. I get the Brazillian... it feels so nice and smooth. You should expect to be laying down with no panties on. Don't worry if you are a little self concious, the esthetitians have seen hundreds of genitals close up.

Is it better to get Brazilian or a normal one? How often should u get a bikini wax? How much is it? And some people said it's not healthy to wax...

I got my first one 2 weeks ago before I went on vacation to Palm Springs. It really wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. Make sure you tell the person doing it that it is your first time and they will talk you through it. The lady was so nice to me and just kept talking the whole time which actually made it go faster. Expect some redness for a while (I dont think it really went away until the next day).
I would start with just a regular wax since its your first time (thats what she told me to do). If you google bikini wax you can find lots of stuff on people talking about their first experience (thats what I did before I went). I paid $35 plus tip (and tip wellll, seriously, think about what they are doing). Hope that helps!

It is going to hurt--a lot at first, but the pain goes away really quickly. It is very much worth the pain. Afterwards you will feel very clean and feminine. Deap breathing of the sort you learn in yoga helps me get through the initial pain.

Hanne, perhaps I should say "just like a little boy again." :p

^depends entirely on your body and how your hair grows. For some people it will be weeks before they see hair, on me, I've got stubble within a week.

My roommate's friend (caucasoid, hairy type) had a bikini wax done at a Korean-owned nail/waxing salon. She tells this story about the three Asian aestheticians quietly tittering over the hairiness of her pubes, with one of the ladies giving it a gentle little pat as if it were the most adorable thing she'd ever seen. She said they did quick, professional job, nonetheless, as well as giving her a great story with a lovely visual for me to retell here.

I've never been waxed down there, but I did let a guy shave me at Burning Man in 2004. He was happy. I was happy. The five other people at his camp were happy. The passersby were happy. Damn, everybody was happy. Burning Man--I'd never paid so much to ride naked on a bicycle in a harsh desert environment before. I recommend it!
