What did family mean to you growing up?


“Growing up in an Indigenous remote community, one of the things that I valued most was my family. Having a family to love and support me unconditionally through the good times and the bad times made everything worthwhile.”


What's one of the most memorable lessons you’ve learnt from your mum?


“The most memorable lessons I have learnt from my mum are to have respect for myself, family, culture and Mother Earth. Also, life is like a boomerang, what you give is what you get.”


How did your mum inspire you to pursue your dreams?


“As a young girl I was quite shy and timid. I would literally cling to my mum like a baby koala. Over the years, she gave me the confidence and strength I needed to become a strong independent woman. She always pushed me to believe in myself and chase my dreams no matter the circumstances.”
