Black Eyeshadow as Liner (recs?)

Hey guys I need some help...
I hate wax eyeliner, so I usually use either black liquid liner, then go over it with powder eyeshadow in navy/blue/plum, or black liquid liner alone.

I'm really sick of the liquid liner because it takes too much effort, and the liner looks too sharp. I've decided I want to try using just black eyeshadow for lining the eye, but every black eyeshadow I've ever owned looked horrible.

Does anyone have any recs for a black shadow that would look good with medium/fair skin and green eyes?

I did a search on this but was suprised that I didn't find any similar threads (maybe I did it wrong?)

I have a MAC shadow that is basically black with little glittery bits in it (not clumpy or anything, very nice) Maybe one of the MAC girls will be able to give it's name? But their eyeshadows are best.

Here is my tip though. I use a MAC gel eyeliner (the kind with a brush and a little pot) and I can't put it on direct to my eyelid either because a.it's difficult to make the lines good and b.it 'spreads' out and looks bad. So what i do (and once you get the hang of it, it doesn't take more than maybe 3-4 minutes) is do all eyeshadow that you want. Then line eyes with a kohl eyeliner. Then go over this with the gel eyeliner. It seems laborous but really isn't. The pencil helps guide the liquid and also makes it stay on longer.

you could try carbon? tht's MAC & very black. but no glitter/shimmer.
meg tht sounds like black tied.
i do the same as meg when i don't want the harsh line of liquid liner . .
line w/pencil first & then go over w/liquid or gel
it softens the look of the liquid liner . . but you don't the smudging like you do with pencil on it's own
have you tried bobbi brown's gel liners? they're good too!

Apply the eyeshadow with MAC's brush in #263(more diffuse) or #266(more sharp and precise)

i often use a dark brown eyeshadow as liner...
i have medium/olive skin and green eyes-

i find its a much softer look....
dramatic, but not too 'sharp' like you said...
and it makes my eyes look bigger, not smaller like some harsh liners do...

sometimes i will even moisten the brush with a bit of water and then apply the eyeshadow as liner...
it smudges a bit and gives a more intense, smoky look...
i love it.....

best thing is to experiment, i think....
i have a very cheap dark brown eyeshadow and it works perfectly !

You could try any of the Nars "Night" shadows. They're all black mixed with a bit of shimmer in different colors and they work really well as liners. Night Porter (black with gold) , Night Flight (black with blue) & Night Clubbing (black with green) especially.

I recommend MAC Carbon eye shadow and MAC Fluidline (these are my holy grails) in Blacktrack.

Basically anything goes, as long as it is a black eyeshadow, you have a liner brush plus a few drops of water.

Yep I use it everyday. Swear by it. Not cheap tho - 27 GBP.
