My stupid trackball has stopped working properly again! I can't wait until I can finally upgrade to a Blackberry without a trackball, it's so annoying to keep having to get it fixed

the symbols i posted on post #558 is now available as apps so u don't have to put it in auto text again
it costs me 0.99$ but it's so cute and i can't resist to get it.

i have a blackberry curve and every time i write my sms it automatically corrects some words - does anyone know how to turn off the spelling check/dictionary funcion? I tried it but I somehow don't know how it works

I think it's:

Options, Spell Check, untag the box that says 'Check spelling as you type'

unfortunately even if I have it untagged it still corrects my messages

Option, SMS, Disable AutoText (click Yes), Press the menu key and save.

i've had the iphone for a few months and im going back to a blackberry tomorrow..cant wait..i miss my blackberry.

Has anyone else done an update recently? on my 9630 I was prompted to do one the other day, so installed it , but it was much more of an update than I expected... even the text messages are very different (they're now all grouped together into one, more like an instant message, and smilies show up, etc).

yeah, i also see smilies in text messages now and there is the whole conversation in a row from a person. not one separate text message.

i think i have version 5.0.0.411.

I checked and they tell me there's no update available I personally don't see smileys in my messages...

oh wait, i think i made a mistake. i always confuse the firmware with the desktop manager version. firmware version is 4.6.1.310.

have you checked the latest version on the page of your provider?

I'm not sure which number it is either but when I go into the 'about' section, the first number it says is v5.0.0.591

i had to do mine manually! you would need to check if your service provider provides the update and then download the OS on Windows to update it. It'd usually take around 15minutes or so.
