She is still definitely B list. One starring role in an action flick does not make an A-list actress. Plus, Lindsay Lohan use to hang with Karl so that's definitely not an indicator of an A-list actress either. There's many other B-list celebs that are big in the fashion world too.

Wow so much hate on the one outfit...
It's not a great look but I don't think it's exactly disaster either. We all know stylists do drop their balls occasionally...

I seriously do not understand the criticisms she's getting for this one outfit. She looks absolutely amazing from the belt up, imo. The skirt is a little bit risky but she's young, she's fresh, and fashion mistakes are bound to happen. And I don't understand why it's such a big deal that she wore the outfit as it was seen on the runway? She thought that the style was interesting, so she experimented; I don't think that's something she should be criticised for per se. Its not like she did an interview on the red carpet and claimed that she put the entire outfit together by herself...

I also never got the notion that Blake was setting herself up to be some "fashion icon." I think her comments and interviews have made it very clear that she's learning and this world of fashion is just now beginning to intrigue her. Even in the interviews when she talks about how Anna Wintour invited her to the Dior and Chanel stores, she seems so overwhelmed and even says how lucky she feels to have the opportunity to experience this glamorous high fashion lifestyle.

I think the idea that she is a style "icon" has come mostly from the media, especially starring in such a fashion-centric show like Gossip Girl. Yeah her PR team has used that to her advantage, but I seriously do not understand all the criticism...

I couldn't agree more. It's not her best outfit, but I've seen far worse. Plus, she's never claimed to be a fashion icon - in fact, she's always been rather humble when it comes to that.

I rather like it . The only thing I would have changed is the shirt poking out at the bottom, didn't do much for me. Bt everything was definitely interesting & she seemed to have fun with it. Of course it is perfectly fine that some of you not like it but, like others, I am surprised at the "Egads, this is a TOTAL DISASTER, how will she recover!?" posts lol.

It's odd how ppl get up in arms about various labels attributed to Blake Lively as if it were a unique occurrence. Folks, this happens with every new young thing that bursts on to the scene. They all get labelled as "style icons", compared to fashion greats of old blah blah etc. (unless they're being promoted from the "too individual for Fashion" angle). For eg. no one gave a fig about Carey Mulligan's style after her small turn in "Pride & Prejudice" but after "Education" & the Oscar nod she's on best style lists everywhere. Same thing happened with Keira, Natalie P. ("OMG, she's so Hepburn, I die!!111") blah blah etc. It's how mags sell copies.

True that...but she's moving up the acting food chain quickly thanks to an aggressive team of managers, agents and brilliant PR reps - seriously her team is genius! Although everyone can see through the BS when she is name-checked for major parts that Keira and Natalie are up for, which is laughable considering their pedigree. But she's trying...

In fashion, she's farther ahead though - she can get a dress off the runway after it debuted 24 hours earlier. It keeps her in the headlines, she's also avoided doing trashy editorials for men's magazines, right? She's on the right track...

I watched Elvis and Annabelle recently, and was SHOCKED at how different her face looked in that movie. SO different, but a very cute movie.

I also think her hair has been looking wonderful lately, on GG at least. I don't think she looks too good with her hair all off her face as she seems to prefer on red carpet events

I love Elvis and Anabelle. And I think Blake's acting was really great there.. she actually has a talent we just can't see it in GG. Serena's character is just really dull but if Blake gets a chance she can be amazing as an actress

Women can be really jealous! when a girl is beautiful, has a killer body, wears the best designers, works with the best in Hollywood in such a short career yet (and have sucess in what she does), people have to find anything to critize her.... some people get really happy when she is closer to a miss than a hit....
What I know is that Blake will be, sooner or later, a strong name in Hollywood, and not only because she is damn gorgeous, but because she is indeed a good actress, give her "good" roles (like The Town) and not pathetic ones (as GG) and she will shine!
