Blake Lively (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

BLAKE LIVELY is launching her own company, and this time it has nothing to do with acting.

"It's something that will be launching in a few months and that I'm really, really thrilled about. The main element of it is that it's about storytelling and it's about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that. There's nothing like it out there - it's without a genre," Lively told us. "I have so any passions outside of acting and things that I grew up being good at and that I don't utilise when acting. Acting was something that my family did so I just kind of got into it by default, but there was so much that I cultivated, thinking that I wouldn't be an actor."

Lively says that she has had the opportunity to branch out into new projects since she finished filming Gossip Girl just under a year ago, and took part in Gucci's "amazing" Chime for Change concert this year as well as continuing as the face of the fashion house's Premiere fragrance. But fans of her work needn't worry, it certainly isn't the end of her acting career.

"A lot has changed for me in the last year! I got married, I finished Gossip Girl after six years, I had my first break in a while and I've been working on this company… it has been nice to have a separation from my show. The first film I did coming out of Gossip Girl, I wanted it to be different from anything I've ever done but also representative of where I want to go, because now I'm in a different place," she told us.

"When I was doing Gossip Girl, I had these short breaks where I could play a character on weekends, but there's a movie I'm really excited about that I'll be doing this winter and one of the most enticing parts of it is that it spans from the 1900s until now. The fashion is amazing, and my character gets to experience all of the different time periods and tell the story through fashion. It's not a movie about fashion, but it's an integral part of who she is and the whole story."

it sounds like she just wants to launch GOOP 2.0, as she has so many similarities to how Gwyneth Paltrow grew up so privileged. As a fan it's kind of disheartening because she sounds like she's about to become one of those "mocktresses" who don't actually work, just shill off products to build a brand around themselves.

Burbank is nice but it isn't Beverly Hills, and I doubt anyone like Steven Spielberg is Blake's godfather (if she has one). Just saying. Blake's family seems to come from pretty humble beginnings and don't seem to be anything close to major figures in the entertainment industry.

I have no idea what the new project could be, but the storytelling aspect sounds interesting. And I'm not surprised - she's been talking about opening her own restaurant and her other interests from her earliest interviews. The woman seems to have an entrepreneurial spirit.

The movie sounds interesting and fun, too. Can't wait to hear more details. Good to see her back after her year off.

She looked lovely in Milan for the most part. Love the green halter dress and that whole look. Not a fan of the pants on the jumpsuit or the sparkly material of the outfit she wore to the 'Beauty in Wonderland' exhibit, but if she had to wear something from the SS14 Gucci collection... it could have been a lot worse. ;) Liked the braided hairstyle and makeup, though. The dress she wore to the runway show looked about as good as a "nectarine leather" could and the hair, makeup, and accessories were spot on. On a side note, nice to see her sitting with Anna Wintour. :)

^ She has had a good and happy life but I think her family have been very comfortable but never rich. They are no where near GP. People love to say Blake's family is connected when they really aren't. Her family may be in the business but non of them have ever been "successful" - they are all just the definition of working actors. Even her mum who is an agent (I think) deals mainly with your standard the tv movie types. I'm sure they make a good living (to the average person) but never anything note worthy in hollywood terms.

I think to people who don't know a lot about her, launching a company will seem random and like a just a ploy e.g. people seem to think that her love of food/cooking is something new & fake and to change her image etc. when in fact since day 1 she has always been passionate about food & opening restaurants etc.

I always new she would do something outside of acting as acting has never been her #1 passion or even priority.

My only surprise is the type of company she's launching as it doesn't sound like its strictly just a food/lifestyle thing (which is a more natural/authentic progression than other actresses imo). I'm intrigued as it seems she's found a way to put a new spin on it.

Whether it will succeed is a whole other discussion.

^ True, I have read earlier interviews in which she says she was never even interested in acting, was basically tricked into going to an audition by her brother! Im not surprised shes taking a new route.

BLAKE LIVELY REYNOLDS : "THE AGE OF ADALINE"

Blake Lively, Ellen Burstyn Set To Star In ‘The Age Of Adaline’

The romantic drama The Age Of Adaline has been through a couple of incarnations, but it is now set to go into production in March as a co-production between Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Lakeshore Entertainment. The Town‘s Blake Lively is set to star with Ellen Burstyn, with Lee Toland Krieger directing. Lionsgate is set to release the film domestically.

Scripted by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz, with revisions by Allison Burnett, The Age Of Adaline follows the miraculous life of the 29-year old title character, who stops aging after recovering from a near-fatal accident. Over the 20th century she embarks on an epic but isolated worldwide journey, keeping her secret, until she meets a man who forever alters her life. Lee Toland Krieger is directing, and Sidney Kimmel is producing with Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi. Jim Tauber and Eric Reid will be executive producers.

“They’re extraordinarily talented and perfect for telling the beautiful and timeless tale of The Age Of Adaline,” Lakeshore CEO Rosenberg said of Lively and Burstyn. Added Lakeshore prexy Lucchesi: “Lee Toland Krieger is one of the most stylish young filmmakers working in Hollywood today. He is visually imaginative and possesses a strong narrative sense.”

Noting that the project took awhile to come together (Katherine Heigl once was attached), Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Co-Chairs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger said: “We searched for the ideal director and stars. We believe that we have found them with Lee Toland Krieger, Blake Lively and Ellen Burstyn, and together they will tell the story of Adaline in a way that audiences won’t forget.”

Lively is coming off Savages. Burstyn next stars in Draft Day and Interstellar, and Krieger directed Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg in the indie Celeste And Jesse Forever and wrote and directed The Vicious Kind. Lively is repped by CAA and Management 360, Bursteyn by Innovative Artists and The Schiff Co, and Krieger is repped by ICM Partners and Anonymous Content. Offshore sales are being handled at AFM by Lakeshore and Nick Meyer’s Sierra/Affinity.

That cardigan looks really cosy! It's an Autumn Cashmere cardigan (coolspotters.com) :flower:
Not sure she changed her name, that title was added in the facebook page where I originally found the news reported, and I forgot to edit it, but the deadline original article mention her just as Lively. :flower:

I think she did change her name but uses Lively for work- a fan/flight attendant took a pic of their boarding pass a while back and it said Blake Reynolds on it.

Love the Sisterhood reunion pictures, I love that they are so close still.

Really excited to see her back in acting, the movie sounds interesting and also nice change from her previous roles. It will be interesting to see how she will develop now GG ended.

Blake Lively ambushed Sisterhood co-star for bachelorette party

BLAKE LIVELY and her THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS co-stars ALEXIS BLEDEL and AMERICA FERRERA ambushed castmate AMBER TAMBLYN at an airport and took her on a bachelorette jaunt to New Orleans, Louisiana.

The stars have remained close since meeting on the set of the hit 2005 and they couldn't resist a reunion last year (12) just before Tamblyn wed comedian and actor David Cross.

The Two and a Half Men star admits she had no idea the get together has been planned when she joined Lively and her partner Ryan Reynolds for a night at their home in Bedford, New York.

She tells Entertainment Weekly, "Blake talked me into coming up to her and Ryan's house. We all had drinks and Blake's like, 'You can't drive home'. The next morning there was a car service... and Blake basically took me to the airport.

"She blindfolded me and I felt all of these hands pulling me out of the car. I'm like, 'OK, I'm going to be beheaded...' And it was America and Alexis. They had all surprised me and put this whole trip together to New Orleans."

And that's not the first time Lively has organised a Sisterhood co-star's bachelorette bash - she also planned Ferrera's and admits it's important to share the good times with her closest film friends.

She adds, "These are such key moments in each other's lives. They (co-stars) met me before I even had a boyfriend. They were at my wedding.

"They're the most intelligent people you'll ever meet, It's like, 'Wow, how lucky am I to have those women as friends? And how lucky are they, because I make a good cupcake."

But, though Lively has planned her pals' bachelorette parties, they never got the chance to surprise her with one.

She tells the publication, "I didn't get one out of them. I did have a secret wedding. They thought they were going to a birthday party, so its no fault of theirs. But I do think I'm owed a bachelorette party."
