Blake Lively (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

Am I on a Blake Lively fan forum, or The Fashion Spot? Just because we critique her fashion choices does not mean we have are super envious of her or even dislike the girl. Enough with the silly rants please.

We are indeed in the Fashion Spot/Blake Lively board...It's curious that when the matter is not of someones's convenience, the topic "this is a board to talk about fashion" always comes up....
Well I would say we are free to speak about what we want and write whatever we want, as much we don't be rude to anyone, and if this isn't the right place to do it, it shouldn't be you to point that out, but some moderator, am I wrong?

besides, i would say, enough of the hate!

well...there's a reason if they're called OPINIONS...and i don't understand why some of you confuse an opinion in something personal and come up with comment like " blinded by envy"... (seriously!?!?  )
i don't have anything personal against Blake..in fact,in many post i've said how beautiful she looked at certain events...(for example,if you go to the previous page you'll see my comment about her latest appearence..); i just think that when it comes to her style..calling her a "style icon" (as many magazine reffered to her) ,imo, is way too much..and that's of course it's a matter of tastes! and when it comes to her talent, i haven't seen all her movies but judging on GG..,again IMO,from her mumbling to her mono-expressions..she seems the worst of all! i'll make sure i'll see the town..i'll be very pleased to change my mind ;)
anyway..she's a young and nice girl, i'm sure she's working hard and hope her all the best..but i would like to able to express my opinions without ridicoulous statement about envy.
^^HEATHERANNE you said it perfectly!

When I spoke about envy I never said that I was referring to A, B or C member...but there is certainly a difference between the post that you wrote, and some that always say :" she will never be a real actress"..."she is the worst actress ever", "even Lindsay Lohan has a better style than her", "how much she paied so that Anna Wintour likes her?"....
You know what I mean?
Something is express your opinion, other, is constantly bashing Blake for every reason, as some members do about Blake....that's all I'm trying to say!:flower:

She obviously has very marketable looks who's been very smart about her career and has the right people behind her, but maybe a lot of us can see past the 5 major covers in 2010 for a 5 minute 5th "lead" role (she is easily the most underwhelming when actually starring in projects among her peers -- Sisterhood, Gossip Girl), PR stunts, and her showing up important stars being honored at their own events by flaunting her breasts constantly as a guest?

Where are the coverage and campaigns for Carey Mulligan? Amanda Seyfried? Jennifer Lawrence? Mila Kunis? Zoe Saldana? Emma Stone? Olivia Wilde? I admire and envy any of these girls before I do Blake.

She's not even on Kristen Stewart's level, to be quite honest.

same goes for Kristen Stewart by the way - both can´t seem to get it right for the haters out there - whether it´s their choice of dresses or the shoes, or the make-up -

Not everyone who dislikes Blake Lively's style is a 'hater'. That is just so juvenile. More and more threads are turning into fansites where one wrong opinion has people becoming defensive and attacking other posters for their so-called haterism.

so much envy going on...
what I can see is that some people are really mad because she is a beautiful girl, very famous, popular, can wear the best designers, and has starting a very safe career.
She is what, 23 years old? what would you expect about her career, an oscar?
some people judge her talent from what they see on GG, I'm sure if they have seen The Town or The Private Lifes of Pippa Lee you would have a different opinion.
She has flaws?of course she has, she has much to improve, but saying that she has not talent????envy is blinding some people for sure!

This is such a rude, unnecessary and insulting comment from top to bottom. Some people here are adults, there's no need to forcefully impose malicious intent behind other peoples opinions and comments. FYI I personally have seen most if not all Lively's work. So, your point is, exactly?? A girl dislikes another girls style and does not agree with the masses so this surely means one thing and one thing only: she must be jealous and envious!

oh well, i don't know if my comment sounded juvenile or not - I just can speak for myself and say that I am not a fan of anyone (besides maybe Dunst and Williams and a girl-crush on Johansson) but I just think that young, new, fresh actresses should be given some more tolerance - I sometimes have the feeling that they just can't do right in the eyes of all us, fashion-forum-members - I leave it to everyone to judge who and in which position we are to critizise some celebrities like we do (me included) - it's very easy to critizise the most beautiful and best looking people sitting in front of a screen - that's my opinion..

Of course the have hits and misses in their style choices but I have the feeling that some girls/women get way more criticism than others without any 'obvious' reason other than that they are the more mainstream 'it-girl' than some hipster indie-girl (like my favourite M.Williams) - even if I prefer different styles I do not critizise Blake or Kristen for attending an event , for not attending it, for dressing too sexy, too mature, too short, too long, too generic, too different...it's like they can't do right - if they show up bad - if they don't show up and got to events bad as well...it's a a no win situation imo

I just try to enjoy seeing great fashion on gorgeous girls

very well said jomarlushka!

Has the image been altered or is she sporting a fake tan? The colors seem off.

I love her in blue, but I'm not sure about all the bulky layers. And berry colored peep-toes? That's quite the color combination. Although I don't love the look Blake still manages to stand-out. There's just something about her.

Anyone know when her Chanel campaign will be released?

Absolutely divine. Young, chic, fresh, modern. That´s the Blake i love. Great dress and the color suits her just amazing.

can u blame Blake for catching eyes of Anna W or Karl???
Mila Kunis is not a young actress, she did a lot, but she never cared for fame...

on topic, love the shoes and the color of the dress, though shape is a bit off... but still she is gorgeous!!!!

She's in The Town for about 10 minutes and mumbles the entire time. Someone in my theatre actually shouted "we need subtitles!" I would recommend watching Sisterhood because she's quite charming in that film... or wait for the Green Lantern.

I don't really care about Blake's personality, but I do appreciate that she seems glad to be in the spotlight and relaxed on the red carpet because it really does make a difference in show-casing the clothes. They just look ten times better on someone who is confident, smiling, and not slouching. I'm not really concerned with her personality or her face (which I find just average), to be honest. I just think she can wear clothes really well when she's not choosing to reveal too much and I loved her looks on Gossip Girl back in season 1.

Emilio Pucci seems to the new favorite of celeb, and I'm usually not a fan of his creations, this is not an exception. Blake always looks fabulous in colors, but not a fan of this dress.
