I was wondering the same. It's not like she is working, she was papped several times in NYC and attended events there, so it is weird that she didn't head to Cannes.
Has her contract expired already?

I think her contract expired. The same happened with Naomi Watts who used to attend every single year, but didn't attend this time.
L'Oreal signed Elle Fanning, maybe Blake lost a place with the company.

The yellow dress looks really bad. I think her style has been really hit and miss since the pregnancy.

I don´t think the walk with her sister is staged. I guess my first reaction would be waving, too.
Also, other celebs call paps and flip the finger or hide. Just because she isn´t hiding doesn't´t mean she called them.
