Blugirl RTW Spring 2014
September 19, 2013

The effortless elegance of Julie Christie in the film “Darling” served as starting point for Anna Molinari’s Blugirl collection.

Channeling a Sixties’ London-inspired theme, the designer sent out a plethora of A-shaped pieces, from a blue silk shantung romper showing a contrasting plastron to an elongated sleeveless top worn with slim Capri pants. For the most part, Molinari's elevation efforts worked, as the clothes looked chicer and more sophisticated than in previous seasons, even if the lineup grew a bit repetitive with too many near-identical sheath dresses in various bright colors and different fabrics.

The change of tone didn't last through evening. Then, a group of little dresses and gowns decorated with giant sequined multicolor flowers indicated that Molinari hasn’t completely shed her enthusiasm for flash and dazzle.

Sweet is the way to describe it. Everyone looks like they're going to a retro tea party.

young yet sophiscated though am not a huge fan of the 2 long gowns

Always have a soft spot for Anna Molinari stuff. So sweet, pure dessert, but the colours are art :)

imagining some of these looks on young hollywood actresses (think Elle Fanning and girls in her age group) made me smile...

which, i suppose, is a good thing. i definitely don't like all of this and actually think some it is really not good, but there were some pieces here and there with a lot of potential.
