Blumarine S/S 2023 Milan

If this had less denim pieces/looks, fixed or removed the cowl neck dresses and refine the flow so it doesn't feel so cut-paste with the sequence it would have been so much better.

It's "Y2K vibes" done to the max but at least it's executed well and with a strong conviction. It is overstaying it's welcome though. It'll please the Insta/TikTok clout masses well enough so I can't really complain because it clearly isn't for me (although I see some nice pieces here and there that can work well outside of this styling). Wish we got some of this abrasiveness at Cavalli, and wish the casting was much stronger too.

I can already a couples look with Megan Fox and MGK with this, or something Ziwe would wear on her show. Very now, very current.

who styled this?!! it's horrid.. probably George Cortina or someone as flashy/trashy...

I don't think he has the ability to create high end, thought provoking fashion. He could however, build a successful career as a costume designer or a stylist. The clothes aren't terrible, but they fail to make a strong individual statement. I see them as complimentary, rather than primary. Like I mentioned previously, as costumes they would work well on stage. Because of the derivative influences I simply cannot take this seriously as a high fashion. If you were to tell me these were costumes for dance production that would be an entirely different story.

Our tried and true favourite Lotta Volkova styled the show. She's been the stylist at Blumarine since Nicola took the creative direction helm I think, or at least when the Y2K-isms came in full swing.

The ghost of Britney and Justin's past lmao

There's a lot of cute vintagey clothes here that will look good on Instagram, but what happens when we move on in a couple of months and no one wants to look like it's 2005 anymore? It also rubs me wrong how disconnected the last part of the show looks compared to the rest of this denim extravaganza.
