Bottega Veneta Resort 2010

Viewing the entire collection on Style.com was helpful to me. I actually really like this collection but it does seem more career oriented than resort wear to me. The colors are good for me so I've already been inspired to mix pieces in chocolate brown, firebrick red and orange that I already own. I would love to be able to purchase some of the dresses from this collection but for work, not play.

^ I guess he's having a different conception of this collection & wants people to be able to buy and wear it immediately where they live. I usually do find a way to layer my resort purchases & wear them right away ... but this makes sense for the time of year it comes out.

Looked at the runway shots on style.com, and the stills above are not IMO representative of the collection ... there are swimsuits and plenty of sleeveless dresses and bare looks too ... many of the colors are pretty intense or dark though.

Love the palette but not the baggy pants. All of my Bottega purchases are real investments (wearing a $1,300 pair right now as we speak/type ) so naturally I don't see that cut of pant as an investable piece. Maybe I'm being sour grapes because I'm too petite to pull that pant off....surely they will look amazing on a taller person!

Structure meets ease at Bottega Veneta, as Tomas Maier moves in a new direction for cruise. Taking a cue from men’s wear, Maier references classic Neapolitan tailoring juxtaposed with a sporty element, and the results are always sharp and luxurious.

Well it could merely be new for TM, but there is absolutely nothing new here for the rest of us.

Thanks, but no thanks. Nobody needs to pay this much dough for something so mundane. Great that they know how to cut skinny pants and an ill-fitting shirt. Zara has been doing it for years.
