Bottega Veneta S/S 09 Milan

The collection really needs to be felt and inspected closely to appreciate the quality. The colors are also refined and most of the collection is realist and could be worn on the street without any alterations.
It serves its purpose well. It's not trying to be anything other than what it is- clothes for understated, chic, middle-aged women.

while it isn't really my style, i can't deny that bottega always has solid, elegant and tasteful collections.

Classic BV - No surprises. Some I love (dresses and SHOES!), but I'm not really into the suits....

Nothing new from Bottega...but I think the colors are fantastic. I especially love those slouchy blazer/cardigans/trench pieces with the skirts. Those are fantastic.

Absolutely stunning, EARTH TONES are very present this season and I love it, I love the colors.

bottega veneta has been a favourite of mine for a few seasons...it's totally wearable and has this "and i didn't even try to look that good"-air.

Totally! I like SO many of the pieces, I'm having a hard time finding what I don't like...

I'm afraid that so much of it is right up my alley.

And if some people find these items boring, then call me boring!

I adore how the clothing is held: the dresses are draped, where the jackets button, etc.

the first part seemed pretty boring, but the prints and dresses afterwards made up for it. lovely!

I LOVE this collection!!

I think what is most beautiful about it (to me) is the simplicity and elegance. There is something so beautiful about a simple, well constructed garment that has accent and detail in just the right places. I also think so many of these pieces are great of every day wear and will last a long time in someone's wardrobe. The clothes are functional and chic at the same time.

THANK YOU for posting the whole collection!

WWD review

Tomas Maier has come a long way in terms of fashion finesse. Last season’s near romantic turn was a perfect example of a well-balanced collection. But spring started with a small step back. Show notes declared “a seemingly unmediated conversation between the body and the materials that cover it.” If that was so, the body had too little to say in the opening leather ensembles: clunky dirndl skirts and shells that, done in thick, brown, red and yellow skins, looked better suited to luggage — or accessories, which were as solid as ever here — than clothing. Things got progressively softer from there, as Maier cut and draped silk, cotton shantung and delicate blush-colored chiffon into effortless dresses, which provided a welcome counterpoint to the first looks. Just as constant was the rusty palette, which worked well with the structure on several variations of the shirtdress — also a stage for Maier’s way with tailored femininity. A belted, ruffled-down-the-front style, done in one of many faded prints, was one of the runway’s best and segued into a strong finish of gentle beribboned evening looks. By the last exit, a pale, parchment-colored dress that fell into dégradé ruffles, the memory of those leathers had begun to fade.

Other than the first few leather outfits I loved it

Right! The leather threw me off a bit.. but as noted in that ^ review, toward the end the rest made up for the leather (or at least for the most part).

I haven't seen any of this in person yet, of course, and the reviewer has, but some of the leather looked quite fluid to me--the shorts for example. And if you know what Bottega leather feels like (butter soft) ... I just got a completely different impression, and I'm not someone who wears leather clothing (suede yes, leather no). I found it an interesting development ... however, none of the clothing really called my name (as in, call now and preorder ;))

Oh my god, I hate that tiered dress so much. So unflattering. Along with the leather dress. The rest is great though.
