"First day of my life" was our first dance at our wedding last summer so that song and album is fairly special to me. that being said I don't know anything about his personality.

is it true he used to date Michelle Williams (pre heath).. .any photos of them together?

^ yeah its true he did. i haven't seen any pictures of them together. geez he's dated a fair few people..

I love Bright Eyes and I think he is one of the best lyricist (sp?) of our time. i can understand why some people don't like his voice, but personally I love it.

i quite like his music, i go up and down with him at times though
he's interesting and i love his lyrics, they tell a story brilliantly

Bright Eyes is the kind of band for me that I can only listen to once
in a while or else I'll lose interest quickly

He's great live though i've seen him twice, I can see why some people
don't like him but he's really just an insecure person, or atleast that's what
i think

saw Bright Eyes perform last night in London Ontario. a great show- nice blend of soulful music and honkey tonk fun. yah he was looking a bit tipsy by the end of the show but his voice was spot on and the music was great.

When I saw this topic my first thought was "I bet Fairy's posted here!" lol cause of your Conor loving!

The lyrics and style of Bright Eyes are what caught my attention/liking. The painful, regretful droning, the sorrowful, yet hopeful lyrics. The uniqueness of Conor's voice...

i definitely get that impression from him. i am so divided on whether i like his music or not..it gets very dramatic and false imo...but i do listen to no lies, just love sometimes .my uncle served conor at the airport (at customs) and he said he was really nice..quiet and pretty short

city girl, he's pretty insecure, you can see that in interviews...but that's what I love about him. I love insecure people because I'm insecure as well that's why I really like the quote from this pic:

^ yeah when my uncle told me i was quite thrilled. stuff like that never happens here! i don't think insecurity is a flaw it's just something some people go through (i'm slowly getting out of it) thats a cool quote i agree with it

I'm desperately waiting for a concert here in Austria, or maybe in Germany...or in London. I really want to see him live...someone said that he would perform at the Frequency Festival (it's here in Austria) and I was sooo excited but it turned out to be false and now I'm pissed

I don't think it's a flaw either. for me it's positive...it makes ppl more interesting and appealing to me...maybe because they have the same problems...

I like some Bright Eyes songs but Conor is sooo pretentious, and I cant get past that. he angers me. "Make War" was on the radio just now and I was thinking, get over yourself!

I'll post some of the photos we took at the concert later... interestingly he was wearing skinny jeans and he really rocked the look. wore them with a tailored western shirt... he looked great. he is kinda short but hey, my hubby is short too so nothing wrong with that

I love that picture/quote you posted Fairy! I'm very insecure, and I can find peace in his music knowing that I'm not the only one!!

My brother is at the Bonnaroo music festival in Tennessee right now, it starts tomorrow and goes to Sunday- Bright Eyes will be there!! I'm soooo jealous..it's like all of my favorite bands there lol! I wish he had a camera with him. oh wellll!

I'm glad you like it! it's also one of my faves...his music calms me down and of course it's very moving...when I listen to "Poison Oak" I almost start crying...
and I think his voice is just unique and I love that it's not perfect. it reflects his fragility I think...

oh I'm jealous as well there are alot of festivals here in Austria in summer but...he's not coming

^ I know exactly what you mean..sometimes his voice is like shaky, it's just so unique I love it! Poison Oak makes me want to cry too! What a beautiful song, it's one of my faves!
