Yes straight, I would say so. It's barely wavy.

This is the one of the most asked question about BB but she never said precisely how she did it. And her hair dressers from back then are probably dead by now..

^How annoying. I have seen many attempts of her beehive, but never any semi successful attempts of her flowing waves. Her hair looks so thick, but not heavy. Maybe she was just lucky:/ Most people who bleach their hair end up with a less attractive hair texture... So unfair!

Yeah it remains a mystery ! I guess she was naturally blessed with thick healthy hair, but it was initially straight, so surely her flowy locks could be reproduced by anyone with the same kind of hair ?

It amazes me how people back then had much less beauty products, less expertise, yet the hair and make-up were absolutely flawless. Seriously, I'm hardly envious of any celebrity's hair today, but when I look at Brigitte, Marilyn, Veronica Lake, Rita Hayworth, Raquel Welch, etc...I'm dead jealous

I'm a hairstylist & avid BB fan, been obsessed with her hair for 5 years + and I can say that she has extremely THICK hair, You only see hair like that every once in a while. Of course I'm judging this from just pictures and movies, I'd probably have to feel it to be able to tell exactly.. She also colored her hair blonde, when you lift your hair lighter it changes the actual structure of your hair, making the texture of it different. Blonde hair is easier to backcomb, it also would make your hairstyles "stay" better. So she probably just had a teasing comb and some hair spray! She's so lucky to have such amazing hair...

Thank you very very much for your input PonyShow . I had no idea that lifting your hair lighter changes its structure. That probably played a part.
Even as a teen her hair -although straight- always seemed thick to me. Not enough to her taste though ! (I remember reading this somewhere, perhaps in her autobiography)

I just watched Viva Maria! and I am so in awe of her posture and how she moved... When she came back in that torn up dress, her back straight as a ruler and head held as high as humanly possible, she was simply magnificent

^ yes, this is a big part of her appeal ! I absolutely love her gait, her posture...It's exquisite. Years of ballet classes paid off !

Did anyone watch La Méprise ? It's a documentary that was aired last night on Arte and (supposedly) features footage that was never shown before. I was hoping I could watch it in replay for free but this tv channel doesn't allow it :/

Yes I watched it ! I'm gutted I missed the first 20 mins, but I still got to see a lot of it. There was a lot of rare footage and pictures. I couldn't stand the narrator's voice, but apart from that it was rather good !
