Budget Friendly Makeup

NYC makeup? I'll try using more of their products. Last month I purchased NYC curling mascara. It wasn't that bad for something that cost $2. The curling mascara was ok. It wasn't clumpy and lasted throughout the day.
I think their mascaras suck, but their translucent powders, eye liners, and lip liners rock. Oh, and I like their clear glosses. Very basic, but shiny, cheap and not sticky. ^^

I like their nail polishes somewhat but I don't use that line much. Although I have one eyeliner that I like from them.

Yeah NYC isn't amazing. But it is suprising and when you don't have the cash to spend on even Revlon or whatever. It's good.

Hey my bf's sister ordered some stuff from ELF, and she gave me a lipbalm.
Err.. I'd say the texture is smooth, I like.
But the raspberry smell isn't very pleasant *at least to me*
I prefer my good ol' Nivea Strawberry! ;)

Oh yah, I tried the lipgloss too..
Don't like the texture.. sticky.
And the colour isn't very nice too..

Elf

My package from ELF arrived and I have to say from what I have tried today, I am quite pleased. Today I tried:
Clarifying Pressed powder-I was a bit nervous ordering powder because I wasn't 100% sure that the color online would actually help me match which shade I needed. Luckily enough, I ordered the correct shade! The orange scent of the powder threw me off a bit, but after you have it on the scent goes away. It has given me nice coverage and stayed put all day! I'm a fan!

Earth and Water MascaraThis stuff is fantastic. I have the regular on today and put it on with no clumps or any of the other crazy stuff mascara tends to do. My lashes are still seperated nicely and I'm just really happy with it!

Brightening Eye Liner in Coffee I wear very little eye liner, but this did the job I needed it to. No complaints. The liners all come with mini. sharpeners

Moisture Care Lip Color in Chai I had a little difficulty getting the gloss to come out at first. It probably took me about 50 twists to get it started. I really liked the color and it stayed on much longer than the Clinique lip gloss that I used to use in the same color

Overall, I really like what I got

my favorite drugstore items

maybelline dream matte mousse products
covergirl lipslicks
colour juices
maybelline volum' express waterproof mascara
rimmel eyeliner
rimmel eye makeup remover

I like Carmex it's THE best lipbalm IMO.

-17 eye liner only about £1.79 @ Boots, I actually use free Fashion Fair ones but these are good too.
-NYC Kiss Gloss the mint smells yummy
-L'Oreal Colour Juice...too bad I can't get them here

I will have to try out those H&M brushes, I didn't think they'd be any good!

has anyone heard of E.L.F cosmetics? theyre all $1 but i cant seem to find them anywhere other than their website :(

There's a review for some of their stuff a few posts up. I've seen their lip liners at target, in the travel size section. And I think I've seen a gloss or two, but nothing else by them in a store. Also, makeupalley.com has reviews of their stuff

Don't buy NYC nailpolish. It literally ate at my nails and made them incredibly weak and fragile. I remember when I was peeling off my nailpolish (I like to do that once I see signs of nail polish chipping) my nail was being peeled off as well. All of them. They're cheap for a reason.

I've always found Wet 'n Wild nailpolish to be pretty good. I buy the silver for my toes. :flower:

here's a picture of the Boots no17 eyeshadow~It;s quite easy to apply and it doesn't smudge
price:£5

Eyeshadows: Prestige, Face of Australia and Bloom do fantastic eyeshadows! Well pigmented, beautiful colours.

Eyeliners: Bloom shadow liners are great, as are ChiChi's pencil liners.

Lip gloss: Face of Australia lip glaze, Nivea caregloss and shine.

Lipstick: Australis! Revlon.

Foundation: Revlon ColourStay Active, Revlon Diffusing tint

I got the new Cover Girl mascara, Lash Exact, and I love it. I am addicted to Diorshow and Guerlain Divinoria, so I guess this is a nice break for my wallet! It gives very long lashes with absolutely no clumping.
I also got the new Maybelline foundation, Pure Make-up, which is a step above a tinyed moisturizer in coverage and has water in it, no oil, to dillute the color down a bit. I like it because it feels so light weight and doesn't cake.

A few tips:

If you like cream blush, don't waste your money in buying one. use your lipstick! Mix it with a bit of highlighter (the elf highlightter in lemonade work awesome even if you use it alone!). I love using lipstick because it gives me more color and pigment and stay on longer.

My favourite all-purpose cosmetic is Avon Liptints in Wine. It goes on (apply lightly) your lips like red cherry. Use it on your cheek and there is a very healthy glow. It looks so natural!!!! I use it after coming out of swim practice. Amazing!!!!

You can make your own shimmery lipbalm by using Vaseline and some pink eyeshadow!!!

Best bronzer? From Jane. I have the powder bronzer from Jane for fair skin. Look so good!!! No one can tells!!!

Milani liquidlipstick can work very good at eyeshadow. I have Glam. It gives a beautiful shimmery that stays for a whole day. Want more pigment? After apply a thin coat, dust on eyeshadow.

Almay smartshade foundation: no more guessing baby! (Love Almay line of face makeup)

Concealer: pick one that you can mix to match your tone (like one from Revlon) but I recommend you to go to department store for it. Concealer is like a bikini. We don't want to go wrong!

For gals who don't like putting on makeup. Use the Retroactive Skin optimizer from Avon. I use this when I don't want to put on any powder.

Anyway, because I'm in swim practice so I can't possibly drag my whole makeup table with me. Here is what I recommend you need to look pretty after a workout and a shower at the gym: lotion -duh:lol:-, lip balm, an all purpose cosmetic (for both lip and cheek), concealer. There is no need for powder or foundation. But if you want to go eat something or shop, you can choose to pack an eyeliner (choose a doubleheaded one so you have one black and one in color in place of eyeshadow) the trick: line the colorliner on your fingertip then dab it on your eye for eyeshadow. Don't line your whole lid!:innocent:

Finally, Maybelline limited addition of colordrama in Red Velvet is beautiful!!!!
