Budget Friendly Makeup

word to weary...

dont buy the revlon cream blush...its just a piece of trash..its blotchy and doenst last long..i could have just put the $10 i paid for it towards something from sephora...like nars...:(

My new favourite lip gloss: Jelly Gloss from Rimmel, taste bubble gum like, no sticky feeling at all, no drying, a cute shine. A trick: when you buy drug store makeup, becareful of anything shimmery because their shimmer most of time looks fake and cheap (you're better off with high end products for shimmery), but a clear gloss with tint like Jelly is perfect. (Repeat, don't pick the shimmer one). And don't apply them all over your mouth, just dabble on the center of your lower lip for a naturaly full look.

I love the entire Bourjois range.

* Foundations - Max Factor or Revlon
* Eyeliner - Max Factor Kohl Pencil
* Mascara - Maybelline and Loreal
* Blush - Cover Girl Instant Cheekbones
* Lippies - haven't found a fave, but atm I like CoverGirl lipsticks

I like the ELF all over color sticks in Pink Lemonade and Toasted. They're only $1 and about the size of my thumb but they're cute and good if you don't want to spend another 40 bucks on a Nars Multiple (not that great imo). They're shimmery and give me a sort of dewy look though.

I love the entire Bourjois range.

Where can this brand be bought??

And Meeks, do you use the pink glow stick? It really gives a hint of shimmer? I wonder if it competes at all with my Benefit High Beam..

wet and wild has these creamy eye pallets that are really nice...i wear them alone for a semi sheer look, or i layer a powder over to get a really intense color...they might crease a teensy bit, but for 4 bucks who cares, tap it back into place! :p

A bargain for Aussie girls is the brand "face of australia". They have the best lipglazes - come in a tube, smell like berries, great opaque colors, long lasting but not too sticky.

has anyone tried Maybelline's Pure range? im curious to try, but im waiting to use up the last of my old foundation first...

I've tried the pure makeup foundation....it was ok. It's basically a tinted moisturizer with a slightly mousse like consistancy. It's oil free and water based so it didn't make me break out but it was a little too matte for my liking. Also the lightest colour was slightly too dark for my nw15 skin.
It wasn't a bad purchase but I haven't finished the tube and probably won't.

As far as drugstore makeup goes I really like the cover girl aqua smoothers tinted moisturizer and lash blast mascara. I also like maybelline mousse blush and nyx eye and lip liners. I also love The Bodyshop's lip/cheek stain, it's better and cheaper than Benetint :) and easier to carry around in my purse.

I'm not sure which one you mean but I have all of the colors except for Spotlight. I think Pink Lemonade and Toasted give the best color payoff, while Persimmon and Golden Peach are the most shimmery. I tried High Beam a long time ago but I remember High Beam being very bright and I don't think these are quite as strong, however I know a lot of people like to use them as highlighters. Only downside for me is that they're scented and not as pigmented as I would like.

Ida mentioned in the Nars thread about ELF,and I'm going to give a few of their products a go ^_^

^ I want to try ELF.. I know that Target has some Holiday packages with Elf products, but the Target up in Burbank (north of LA) was out of many of them. :(

Definitely want to give their products a try.. they have store locations on their website in case you're unsure where to purchase. :)

^ Yes. But I do not want to pay for the shipping - doubt I'll be buying $75 worth of stuff..

The products are so cheap that, well, I don't personally care if I have to pay shipping.

The stuff I want (5 products) + shipping is about $18.

^ Yeah, I get it... I always care to have to pay for shipping, though. :) If I can get the products at the store, especially a store in which I frequent, then I'd like to see the products in person anyway.

With regards to ELF,why do some of the products have a scent? Is it strong?
