surprised she doesn't have her own thread, she deserves one...

i think her stuff is really quirky/cute/pretty and definately wearable- and i really mean wearable. being just a teenager, i would feel comfortable wearing these to school without feeling like a showoff.

also love that you can buy some of the patterns from her site. i want to try some of them but i don't know if they will be too difficult.

..other thoughts?

its interesting........ Her store is next door to my showroom and i never took the time to check out her stuff.
I guess with this thread started , I will stop by next time i am in the area, If only to post an objective report here........

^ sounds good B) so far i have only seen her clothes via internet, so i would love to hear how they are in real life.

yeah, i stumbled into the 3rd st. store in LA a few months ago... i love the stuff and it's quite reasonably priced!

I think its a really cool line. Some of the stuff is a little too hipster/LES for me, but for the knits are really great, cute and well priced.

i love built by wendy! she's always been really consistent and true to that summer camp/ironic preppy thing she does. her stuff is very 'cool indie chick,' in fact all the cool indie chicks i know have her stuff! and she does great guitar straps - that's how she started...

Does anyone have the link to her site? Have you bought her clothes, what is the quality like?

I'm actually pretty tempted to get one of her patterns and try to sew it. It looks simple enough!

Does anyone know if her shoes come in size ten? I'm in love with the little booties she has but only see them in a nine:(:(

When I picture how cool American Apparel can be, this is what I imagine. Never ever have checked out her stuff. Never have seen it available here in Las Vegas. But maybe I will check it out online.

well, i wouldn't consider myself 'hipster' but i still love her stuff  :D

The things she makes are so cute. I just bought her book, Sew U, and I love how she includes instructions on how to alter the included patterns.

It's cute, but actually a little too laid-back for me. :ninja: I do love many of her prints, though, like the paint splatters and Bauhaus colorblocks.

has anyone tried on her denim leggings? i haven't gotten a chance to check them out at the store yet...

Well, I bought her trench coat and I  it. It was very well priced compared to a lot of other trenches out there and the quality and details are great (especially the plaid lining).

I know Barney's used to carry it a few years ago...they probably still do??
