Burberry Pre-Fall 2022 London

This collection is weird. The womenswear feels like he trying too hard while the men is his classic Givenchy. The styling is incoherent, too much layerings on complicated looks. If the styling has been cleaner and straightforward it could help the collection.

The Lea T collaboration feel random because this looks like Riccardo usual Burberry. He needs to stop with the unnecessary gimmicks like that cutouts pants.

Will the pot plant be available in stores; or it is just a catwalk piece?

I like the womenswear! A bit Miguel Adrover by Riccardo in the vibe. I think what I hate the most about his Burberry is the Burberry logo, the obvious effort of Burberry-ism.
There are a lot of great pieces in this even if the styling and the fact that it’s mixed with menswear makes it a bit hard to appreciate.

I love the boots! Very versatile! A must have for me…

The womenswear is nice.

The menswear doesn't look like Riccardo touched it and was executed by a design team.

I still think they should have never did away with Prorsum. I understand that at the time it was axed, brands were doing away with diffusion lines but it made sense with Burberry and would make even more sense now. But maybe he should also just go to a brand where his design sensibility works.

The womenswear on the second half is not bad at all...the menswear I find plain and unappealing, very outlet-chic.

not bad at all. See a lot fo pieces I defo wanna buy and wear!!! styling made it not coherent, but overall I like it!

I think indeed that Prorsum would have made sense for someone like Riccardo…Because the real lack of focus in his collections is in the need to include some key seller pieces in the mix. It’s like every collection needs to have a sweatshirts, a logo, bomber jackets.

At his peak, Bailey was very focused. He made the outerwear the focus. It was always about the Trench but he allowed himself to look beyond that. I can remember collections where he didn’t include the check.

In a way, we were introduced to Bailey through Burberry (He came from Gucci under Tom Ford). It’s different for Riccardo, he had a huge baggage and heritage behind him. In a way, his personality was going to be seen. I was more into when he did Bourgeois because it was a way to really play with the iconography and cliches of Burberry and his own style…

He is doing some great things at Burberry but it’s really impossible to appreciate it fully.
