Burberry Resort 2024 London

The first Daniel Lee for Burberry products will start arriving in stores by August / September. What we see now on the e-commerce and in the stores is the remnants of Riccardo Tisci's vision for the brand.

I can't wait to see the commercial offering, the quality and the price points. It's too early to judge anything now. I do think this Resort collection shows the merchandising and commercial eye of Lee. It's a bit hit and miss with some of the total looks but overall it looks like the individual products could sell very well in different markets.

I barely recall much of Riccardos stuff getting produced except - oddly - the worst stuff. That shirt with Global Passport printed on it is when I thought Riccardo was phoning it in. And somehow Burberry made a lot because I saw it way too much considering how horrible it was. Its in an outlet right now at 90% off with full size range available.

burberry needs more than just a new CD. they need new team from top to bottom. That shirt seeming to be one of their big pushes that season lets me know there is a dearth of creativity or taste from top to bottom.

I passed by their store yesterday (can’t even bother to walk in) and thought it was telling that the windows are filled with inflatable swimming rings - each would be given to each Burberry employee to save their life and jump into the ocean to get away from their company

From who? I don't expect a name but heard from who?

His collection has barely been on the floor at this point. Seems a bit premature

I haven't been able to visit the boutique yet but their website is confusing because i can't seem to find the runway collection which is what i'm interested in.
From someone high up on the business side of Burberry. Apparently they didnt buy much if Daniel Lee’s clothes for their own stores (that’s telling!!!), so they organizing trunk shows for people to order directly. Which means they dont even have much faith in selling that sh**. Get it?

they need a 2020s Christopher Bailey. by which I mean, not necessarily CB himself but someone who can do for current Burberry what he did for 00s Burberry i.e. save this floundering once-great brand from itself.

Burberry needs to hire someone who understands the perfect balance between the modern masculine silhouette inspired by uniforms and outerwear with the classic work of tailoring.

Damn Burberry, Joshua Kane is 25 minutes from your headquarters, just hire him!

they just need to stop trying to be a high end luxury brand. They could focus on producing high end outerwear while the rest of their catalogue be "contemporary brand" model.

Those beginning looks are great. The distorted check print adds a nice relaxed touch, and I love almost anything houndstooth.

But it's all very...PAJAMA. It looks comfy, but in a snuggly Tuesday night kinda way, not in a resort way.

Anyways, I'm not sure how much I should expect from these mid-season collections. Burberry is becoming frighteningly reminiscent of Banana Republic (wasn't it always kinda?)

Im maybe in the minority but I’m seduced and convinced by his vision for Burberry. In two collections, it seems organic.
He seems at ease because he understand the brand…

I think a lot of different people can wear those pieces and make it work. It’s good commercial.

‘I hope and I think it will be a success.

Daniel Lee has masterfully taken quintessential English looks and made them modern and luxurious.
