Hi, I looked around and couldn't find a thread for burns. About three weeks ago I burned myself really bad with hot food and got blisters and it hurt bad. I've been putting vitamin e vaseline on it and there are still red/brown marks. What else should I put on so I don't have permanant scarring? Thanks.

Isn't this a medical question? I thought the mods would jump all over this one. :D

I think Estee Lauder recently released something for burns.. I read an article about it in Time magazine, some interesting/amazing story behind it..

Whenever I've touched the wrong side of my flat iron or dropped something hot on my fingers.. I put on a slice of tomatoe.. my mom thinks it's nonsense but it does feel better and the pain disappears completely.. it might as well be a preconceived feeling, I picked this up YEARS ago from..i dont know..a cartoon maybe?. :ninja:

The best thing you can do if you burn yourself is to put honey on it,the pain goes away in minutes and it won`t leave a scar(I`ve done this quite a few times as I`m very clumsy). But I don`t know what you should do if the scar is older.

Like Mulletproof I would go with tomato slices or sauce or paste. Tomato has something in it that keeps you from feeling the pain of the burn and it might help with the scarring as well. Last year I almost fell into my fireplace but saved myself (my face) by somehow using my arm to block the fall. My right arm had a horrible burn on it, in fact my skin actually STUCK to the iron fireplace door! It was nasty. My mom told me to open a can of tomato paste and put it on the burn for a while so I did that. A year later and my scarring is very very minimal and its NOT discoloured.
