Céline Pre-Fall 2011

I ADORE this. I just absolutely love how artisanal each piece and look is. My favorite look is the tartan sweater with wool sleeves with the tartan pants...an absolute knock-out. So smart. The denim patchwork is immaculate, and the colors and textures are so sumptuous. On the whole very diverse, and yet completely cohesive collection.

gorgeous collection! I loved the way she used leopard prints. it is very chic, impossible not to love.

Celine is beginning to turn into a Prada-type - difficult to digest at first, but you love it upon second glance.

Another collection by Phoebe that I freaking love!:woot::heart::woot:
First of all, the styling is superb. Collection after collection, it's evident that each Celine collection is styled perfectly. Second of all, I'm ADORING those metallic pieces in here. I'm dying over that patchwork top. Best of all, I'm glad she's doing skinny fitted trousers while everyone's obsessing over wide trousers as of late. I'm a big fan of the skinny pant look so I'm evidently going to love this. If this is pre-fall, then I seriously can't wait for her fall/winter.

You know, when you look at a Celine collection, it's so clear even if some individual pieces aren't for everyone, undergirding everything is a point of view that is expressed through the actual construction of clothes, as opposed to the styling, as with so many designers. Her shows are a step beyond many of the ones you see these days, and it's no wonder Celine bent over backwards to make bringing her on board possible. Her work is easily on the level of the best of her generation -- Maier, Ghesquiere, perhaps some older designers. And it makes you ponder what's so special about the designers lauded today, who for the most part are merely good at putting barely exceptional pieces together.

This is so chic. I agree that perhaps one or two looks could have been omitted but overall this feels very new. It reminds me aesthetically of the woman that Ghesquiere was designing for in his first Balenciaga collections.

My only criticism is the styling. Its awful. Some of those pieces could have looked infinitely more appealing if only they were styled a bit differently. I think the key to making this look more streamlined was to have it styled with a more minimal approach. There is too much going on here and this is the fault of the styling unfortunately.

Also, the shoes are perfect and look very refined. Thank god for Celine shoes; they always look so modern and chic in comparison to other brands.

Denim patchwork sounds like a nightmare, but wow, it does work here so well! I love most of this, so sleek and gorgeous. I'm so in love with Phoebe's work for Céline recently

I actually really like this collection, probably my fav collection shes done for Celine other than ss10, though i dont always love the way its styled, there are alot of amazing sepeartes, so many covetable coat, interesting knits, and kinda love the silver pants:heart:. Im excited for her fw collection now:D

some the collection is okay, but some aren't, the color blocking is so messed up!

Some of the pieces are great, but i just don't like the way it's styled...

And those white shoes are just gross

Following that SS2011 horror, I love the return to sharp and precise silhouettes, by now established as a trademark of Celine. Many utterly covetable pieces here. And kitten heels too!

The collection is amazing! SS2011 was such a disappointment for me, so I love this even more than I should ) There are some pieces I didn't like but it looks great all in all. And I always felt that Caroline was the perfect choice for the brand.

really awesome but there is no excuse for those awful patchwork coats...

Am i the only one who's getting a Prada-ish vibe from all of this??,, and im talking bout the ugly Prada, lol...

Despite being the one I have most waited for, this is a discomfiting collection.

There's a narrative of impeccable tailoring and form, but some of the pieces - more especially the denim - lack the timelessness, the traditional qualities of simplicity, that I expect of Philo.
