it seems like only few people liked her short hair,
she seems to be one who did not like it:

“There was a little misunderstanding. I [told my friend who cuts my hair] I just want a little bit cut off and it went from here to here,” cameron said, pointing to her ears.


“It was one of those moments, I couldn’t … I just started bursting into tears. I felt so vulnerable. For a woman to all of a sudden have no hair, oh my God!” Cameron added. “She felt really bad. I felt really bad. She started crying. I started crying.”

I think her hair looks so bad because of the color rather than the cut. Cameron is definitely one those girls that look good with short hair like in Something About Mary. But the color of her hair now is too peroxide blond, which makes it look really unhealthy.
