Carol Christian Poell - Designer

Sorry there, i would like to see them, but i'm in Singapore. And i'm not too sure about the sizes, .

it is 28.5cm internally heel to toe, 31cm outside length
and 10.8 cm at widest.......

Im not putting them on ebay yet, but I do have about 2 items of CCP and 2 of Lmaltieri for sale.. So if your interested contact me..
Ill wait to see interest from TFS members before selling on ebay.

I find this quite interesting. I almost bought a pair of CCP shoes in the same style as the boots (but with laces), but didn't for two main reasons - first, they didn't feel comfortable and second, I thought that there was no way I was going to get the heels repaired by a standard shoe repair outfit to the same standard of finish. I don't think CCP will do a repair service. When I looked at these two points in conjunction with the fact that they cost about £600, I thought that they weren't worth it. From the comments here it seems that other who have bought have had these issues.

Now I think the things look nice, lovely leather etc etc, and I'm certainly not criticizing anyone for buying them, but don't you think it's a bit bad that if you spend £600 on shoes they're not comfortable and they're really only going to last in their "original" form for a few months of wear? Don't you think that there may be an element of "emperor’s new clothing" here, routed through the concepts - acknowledged by most to be appealing - of quality and exclusivity? We assume that these are tremendously well made things because we buy them in L'Eclairuer or the Library or A or wherever, where the pitch is exclusivity and quality. We also assume these things simply because of the very high price. But if the products aren’t actually functionally very good do you think were being ripped off? Quite separately, are we actually paying for inefficiency – CCP is not doing a collection this year, I think because he has too many back orders and hasn’t had time or something. £600 is a huge amount to pay for a pair of shoes. Church’s bench grade standard shoes are about £250 and can be repaired and last for a lifetime. I know they’re not fashion forward (and I wouldn’t wear them myself) but the quality is undeniable.

As I say, this isn’t meant as an attack on CCP fans, just some thoughts in view of what Ionn was saying about his shoes.

I'm a size 7, but the measurement looks weird to me.... Too big.

That is an excellent comment, Johnny. You are completely right. :flower:
The more we close our eyes to the obvious, the worse it gets. I just expressed a similar sentiment in the DH thread.

And I know why you don't buy Church's. They are owned by Prada ;)

the fall collection of prada's shoe is beautiful. :p

i'll love to buy them. At least i know they r more comfy than ccp.:woot:

but i'll still check out ccp for sure when i'm in paris:p

 still my favourite designer. Got his S/S 97 collection jacket and i'm still

wearing it from time to time.

admittedy wheni tried them on in store when they first arrived they were very uncomf...however, he has a better inner sole now......shop staff info........

I bought a pair of CCP's pants from YOOX recently, and I got problem with its quality. I have worn it for twice or three times at the most and there's already a hole worn out at a strange place on this pants. It definitely didn't come from piercing by something, therefore is the most likely just bad quality of stitching. It's quite disappointing to me. I have always assumed that CCP's clothes should be of supreme quality since they are so expensive and are supposed to be made in very small quantities.

At least I paid only a bit more than 100 USD for this pants. If I had paid the same amount as on the price tags Atelier New York usually puts on CCP's clothes, I would have felt much much worse.

 This is a second story of quality problems with pants. And I just bought a pair too from Yoox :ermm: Well, at least the two pairs I have look, feel, and hold up really well (for now :p ).

It was the inner sole that was very uncomfy when I tried on. I found myself trying so hard to convince myself that they were worth the money, which is always a bad sign. By the way, the Paul Harnden ones were even more expensive and even more uncomfy!!!

That was my experience too. I could feel the nails and weird bumps inside the shoe. I don't mind a raw look outside, but I want what touches me to be polished and comfortable. I feel that if I have to make a shoe feel better (whether by insoles or liners or whatnot), it better be inexpensive enough for the inconvenience. Which these short run CCP shoes certainly aren't.

Sh*t, they should walk you for the price! ;)

Someone posted these CCP boots in here some time ago. I don´t remember who or where. But these are the boots I want. Maybe the picture is from Lift ecru.....does anyone have any information about them? When are they from, where could you get them, will Poell be doing them again?

Those are very old.. and he no longer makes boots in anywhere near that color, unfortuantely. I think it is must be almost impossible to get them.

I thought they were very nice as well.

yeah well i had the same issue with the boots....that being that you could feel the nails inside of the boot when you put them on....but the staff assured me that this was no longer the case with his boots....thus i ordered them......

also i am not on a high income, yet i thought (personally) i would invest in a pair as i thought they would last and are also something every tom, dick and harry wont be wearing.....

ndc, and carpe boots are probably the only other boots that i would consider buying personally...everyting else is a little too 'finished' for my liking......

ps size 7 boots still up for grabs...sorry to be such a salesman but i will die if i cant get rid of them...as that mean no boots for me :(
