Cate Blanchett

^ I agree, her style is not that great nowadays...

I'm excited to see what she will be wearing in Cannes, I've been so disappointed with her style...:(

On another note, I'm very angry and sad with her interview, she sounded like a true hypocrite, and I never expected that from her.

^^I'm very angry and sad with her Loewe blouse. She agreed to wear a top w/ a built-in strap wrapped around her neck? Big mistake. Big. Huge.

Power suit queen!

it's really a perfect daytime look for cannes. Can anyone id her bag in the last set of photos?

The yellow suit is so great, however I don't like the shoes neither the bag.
I just hope she changes a bit and wears something else than a suit, I'm missing those big fashion moments...

I don't like the fabric of that pink Stella McCartney suit. The jacket looks like an attempt at recreating the classic Dior bar suit and the way the buttons are pulling the fabric makes it appear snug on Cate. But she looks ethereal as always.

I'm watching the Opening Ceremony and I'm pretty sure she's wearing this Armani dress again! That's pretty awesome of her to repeat a gown especially for such a big event.

She is, here is an article where she explains why: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/n...wn-at-cannes-opening-night-red-carpet-1109704

Sustainability has become a hot topic in fashion, and Cate Blanchett is putting it front-and-center on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. The jury president is stepping out for the festival’s opening fete Tuesday night wearing an intricately detailed, black lace look that keen style watchers may recognize: it’s the same Armani Prive gown she wore to the 2014 Golden Globes.

"From couture to T-shirts, landfills are filled with garments that have been unnecessarily discarded," Blanchett tells THR exclusively. "Particularly in today’s climate, it seems willful and ridiculous that such beautiful garments are not cherished and reworn for a lifetime."

^Thanks for that!

I would love it if this became more the norm in Hollywood. It used to be. Grace Kelly's Oscar gown was something she was photographed in several times outside of the ceremony, for example. And she's not the only one. Plenty of Old Hollywood stars regularly rewore their designer gowns. (And I love Rita Moreno for doing it at the Oscars recently.) I always wanted to smack Gwyneth Paltrow when I saw an interview with her where she was like "oh, I accidentally wore an Armani I was photographed in for an editorial at a premiere. I would never do that these days." If the gown looks GOOD, who cares if you wear it multiple times. That's probably why I like royals so much -- they will bring out a decade old gown and make it look like it was designed yesterday. (Well, not all royals, but the best can recycle extremely well.)

For that matter, I wish it would become more the norm in fashion, but I recognize that would take much headway to make that happen.

I hope Cate will consider carrying on this practice outside of the Cannes, because there are several gowns I'd love to see her wear again.

I can appreciate the sentiment a lot but damn I wanted to see her in some S/S '18 Couture for opening night.

My wish is that she shows up in Look 31 (the slouchy black suit) from Margiela, Look 31 from Givenchy (the white and gold beaded gown would be everything on her) and Look 62 from Armani Privé (I know she'd make that dress look fabulous).

I think it's cool that she's wearing this dress again but if you decide to repeat an outfit then the rest of the look has to be really different (hair, make up, jewelry...)...She looks lovely but i don't see a huge difference here...
