The Oscar-winning mum-of-two wore a striking Alexander McQueen gown. Cate's Japanese-style affair, which she wore to the premiere of her latest film Babel, won the Aussie beauty 25 per cent of the overall vote.

She's got such strong features, yet she manages to look feminine. She's one of the few actresses I really admire today. She's one of those people who is so regal, yet can be vulnerable at the same time. It allows her to play so many roles and not get stereotyped into playing a certain character. I can't wait for the next Elizabeth to come out.

i think that only her and nicole kidman can bridge fashion and acting together and do so brilliantly making it so believable. they both can show up at awards shows and i won't even notice other people. brilliant fashion icons, brilliant actresses! and they're friends too. lovely cover by the way!

Eh, I think Cate takes more chances fashionwise and is thus more interesting to me. Nicole is more of just a clothes-horse who just stick with the same designers.

i guess it's a matter of personal opinions. i think they're both very classy: nicole tends to be more classic whilst cate sort of treads on cutting edge (i agree with what you said about her). i've always been under the impression that they are both versatile. i just love them both! and that mcqueen kimono is just breathtaking! she made cannes interesting this year and when she left, all we're left to "feed" off of are the same people doing the same interpretation of glamour (designer gowns, loads of jewelry, etc...).

Shame most of them died in the film.

i luv Cate Blanchett she has such great style and she is an amazing actress. she is also such a supernatural beauty, she was amazing for lotr as Galadriel. and that red dress she wore when she was pregnant you could barely tell she was pregnant, she seems like such a great mum too.

I'm pretty sure its old, the July 2006 UK Vogue has Gemma Ward on the cover and June 2006 UK had Kate Moss on the cover. And I recognized that shoot, i'm pretty sure its old. Since the cover says June its probably June 2005...
