Actress Cate Blanchett has revealed that she is pregnant with her third child - According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Cate, during a red carpet appearance in Sydney last night -revealed that she is expecting her third child.

SMH reports that actress Cate, famed for her roles in The Aviator, Little Fish & her upcoming appearance in the 2008 film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull revealed she was in the early stages of pregnancy.

When asked if she was expecting, the Oscar winning actress beamed and said: “Yes, I am.”

The actress, who already has two sons dismissed rumors that she was expecting another boy, saying: “You know more than me. It’s early days yet. It’s due in April.”
Blanchett made an appearance at the Hayden Orpheum in Cremorne with fellow Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush and Australian actor Abbie Cornish to promote new film Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

Rush had some news of his own, revealing he’s planning a project with Blanchett for the Sydney Theatre Company next year.

However, despite her pregnancy - she is still expected to continue her role as artistic director in the 2008 season alongside her husband Andrew Upton.

“We’re talking about hopefully creating a project down the track for the Sydney Theatre Company,” said Rush.

“That’s where we started together and she’s running the show there.

“I said ‘Well, here’s a couple of ideas, are you interested?’ and she said ‘Yeah, let’s keep moving on that’.”
